It's prom night and the kids of Hoover High will be having a night they will never forget. Popular girl Shelley ditches her prom and ends up spending the night with unpopular Dan; Popular guy Kevin goes out with nerdy Angela because he heard she was easy; Patrice continues to blame her boyfriend Roger for everything that doesn't go the way she wants it to. The adults also have there problems to contend with: Nancy and Larry must find out a way to patch up their marriage or get a divorce; Jack spends the night tracking down his son Dan to find out why he didn't go to the prom; and overprotective Ed and Ruth keep tabs on their daughter Angela throughout the night.

A couple of guys asked me to the senior prom, but I didn't go because during that time I was dead serious in becoming a full time servant of God, but I did go to the graduation ball without a date.  If guys go stag, what do girls do?

I did go to the junior prom with a friend...a Church Mate, who is now happily married and with kids, and I am very happy for him.

Watching movies like this one makes me wonder what the fuss is all about.  Maybe I should've gone to my senior prom to know the difference of a prom organised by a coeducational system compared to a prom organised by girls alone, but it's OK.  I had a fun junior prom anyways and I have no regrets, except for the fact that the girlfriend of that guy cut out pictures and just got his side and my side was left into pieces.

No, I didn't go out with him while they were dating.  As a matter of fact, that guy I went out with, we were sort of dating.  We watched movies together, et cetera, but I think I drove him away or something.  When that B girl got interested in him, I stayed away, but maybe it's for the best, because after B girl, he met his awesome wife, and I they think they are a match made in heaven.

THE MOVIE:

Dance 'Til Dawn is filled with the most popular Television stars of the '80s.  Alyssa Milano of WHO'S THE BOSS?; Tracey Gold of GROWING PAINS; Tempestt Bledsoe of THE COSBY SHOW; Christina Applegate of MARRIED WITH CHILDREN; Matthew Perry also of Growing Pains---he played Sandy, the first big heart break of Carol Seaver---the drinking and driving episodes---three all in all, but that was a year after this was shown.  Before this movie he was Chazz Russell in BOYS WILL BE BOYS; Brian Bloom of AS THE WORLD TURNS and Christ Young of MAX HEADROOM.

The parents were active on TV too:  Edie McClurg of  SMALL WONDER; Kelsey Grammer of CHEERS; Cliff De Young had lots of movies, but on TV he was a regular in THE LEATHER STOCKING TALES; Alan Thicke was the dad in Growing Pains and Mary Fran of KING'S CROSSING and HOTEL.

They had other projects, but those were what they were known for in the 1980s.

It was great seeing them together.  A smorgasbord, but with direction.

Judging from the parents and what they have become, High School does not need to define you.  Whether you're cool in high school or not, it's not going to be a big deal when you're fifty.  Well, it shouldn't be a big deal.  A lot of people are so trapped in the past that they never grow up, but they are NOT in anyway like PETER PAN.

We shouldn't throw our real friends out of be ashamed of them, because at the end of the day, your real friends are the ones who would stand by you and those popular ones(hey, some popular ones are true friends, so I am not generalising) that you were trying to please would just drop you like a hot potato once you are not so hip anymore.

So did I like this movie?

Yes, I did!

It may be a smorgasbord, but the choices are great.

It's well acted and the messages were loud and clear.
