Premise from Wikipedia : Jack and Irene are happily in love with each other. When Irene's motivation to expose the truth, she finds herself in trouble along with her friend, Lily. Jack and Irene's dog, Serena investigate to find the truth about what happened to Irene and Lily. (Just click Wikipedia  to see the cast) The series was impressive at first especially when Janine Gutierrez's role, Irene, was still alive, but I did not like the last few weeks.  I have nothing against Valeen Montenegro, but they killed Gabbi Garcia's role, Lily, making Jack seem like a widower twice, at a very young age. I thought, and I thought wrong, that before THE CURE would start to air on Monday, they would show Jack solving other mysteries, but instead, he just proves that he had much reason to hate his biological father, a human trafficker, among other things, who even called his mother a mercenary who was only after his money in the guise of loving him.   Tsk, ts...

From their FB page We almost never miss a Vic Sotto film during the MMFF because he never fails to make us laugh.  Maybe it's true that MMFF is no longer what it was since it started decades back, but without comic reliefs, it would be a sad festival.  Anyway, that's just my opinion. Among all the entries, this is what I watched first.  I wanted to watch Honor Thy Father first or All You Need is Pag-Ibig, but unfortunately they were both not playing in several cinemas nearby.  Dad was still in a meeting so mom and I took a chance in watching this.  We did not know what to expect.  Was it just media hype or something?  Maybe.  Maybe not.   Would dad like this if ever?   The answer is no.   Even if dad does watch local flicks, this is not what he would enjoy, but mom and I did have a barrel of laughs. We were very, very impressed with Maine Mendoza.  It is obvious that she does not have an empty brain...

( source ) Xian Lim, Kim Chiu, Ai Ai Delas Alas and Director Mae Cruz-Alviar ( source ) Typhoon QUEENIE hit Visayas and Mindanao really, really hard and because of this, some provinces were not able to watch this movie.  If one is fighting for dear life... When Boy Abunda talked to Kim Chiu about this, she just said, "Soft opening pa lang po..." Kim has been bashed for her winning BEST ACTRESS for her roles as Isabel, Jacq and Andrea in Ikaw Lamang ( 28th PMPC Star Awards for Television ). Even if all her contenders are great actors, I don't know why people have been bashing her.  She's a very versatile actor/actress and played her parts well.  I somehow felt her pain when she cried.  Thankfully, Xian Lim is very supportive and helps her to overcome all those obstacles with head held high.
