Left Behind (2014) and Left Behind (2000)

Image
The story of both films are based on the novel that started the series: This is the front cover art for the book  Left Behind  written by  Tim LaHaye  and  Jerry B. Jenkins . The book cover art copyright is believed to belong to  Tyndale House Publishers . Intro: Just recently, while looking at the sky, something magnificent happened, and you'd probably say I was imagining things, but two groups of clouds shaped like people with silver linings looked like they were talking to each other.  They looked like majestic beings and on top of them looked like a big face of Jesus, with hosts of angels. Imagination or not, it was enough for ME not to sin ever again, but *I* did, just seconds after that. What a waste.  Minutes later, I was crying buckets... Anyways, why am I sharing this? With everything happening in the world right now, I couldn't help, but wonder, if Rapture already happened.  What if I was left behind?  Imagine...

Why? Why? When I got the chance to watch this, I tried to understand, but couldn't.  Maybe I'm just biased, because like what I said before, three of my crushes are in this movie: Nicolas Cage, Josh Lucas and Mark Valley. Sigh... When I watched this for the first tim...

National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007)

Image
Cage, Bartha and Kruger http://www.dan-dare.org/ Due to the Metro Manila Film Festival, this movie was shown a little bit later in this country and for one reason or another, I was very, very busy that season. I know that I have just written about the "hype" of a certain story about a noted symbologist, but I can't deny the fact that I love movies with the same theme, as long as they are not lambasting my faith or something to that effect. I enjoyed the first installment of National Treasure(2004)  because almost every scene made me laugh or put me to the edge of my seat.  There was definitely no dull moment and it was great to try to analyze the codes and whatever else.  For almost two hours, I believed that the Knights Templar do have lots of buried treasure all over the world.  Anyways, I loved the fact that they did not become greedy, but still had more than enough to keep for themselves. From imdb : Premise:  Benjamin Gates must fol...

Matchstick Men (2003)

Matchstick Men   (Link added Feb 2014) Written in the latter part of 2013 : Nicolas Cage is one of my favorite actors, but I was not able to watch this film on the big screen.  There were only a few movies that I was able to watch because of the many transitions that happened to me that year(2003) and my brother, PG, also died then and I also thought  that I had someone I could love for the rest of my life. After more than ten years, I was able to watch this on the idiot box.  Why did I miss reading such a wonderful book (Eric Garcia) and why did I fail to watch this awesome movie?  It's better late than never, right? Sam Rockwell as Frank Mercer and Nicolas Cage as Roy Waller As I was channel surfing I chanced upon Matchstick Men .  I had no idea why it was called such, but I saw Nicolas Cage's name and vaguely remembered some scenes from its trailer.  "Oh, there's a young girl in the trailer..." Later on, I fe...
