PERRY MASON: The Case of the Lethal Lesson (1989)

Image
( source ) Ken Malansky(WILLIAM R. MOSES) is a law student attending a class being taught by Perry Mason. When a friend tells him that his girlfriend was assaulted by a fellow student, Ken rushes to the university's mock courtroom to confront him and finds him dead. The murder weapon was Ken's own knife. Perry is reluctant to take on his case, especially since the victim was the son of a close friend. — Kevin Ackley <kackley1@aol.com> THE MOVIE Directed by  Christian I. Nyby II Writing Credits (WGA)   Robert Hamilton ... (teleplay) Dean Hargrove  & Joel Steiger (story)  Casting By  Carol L. Dudley THE CASE OF THE LETHAL LESSON is one of the best made for TV movie about Perry Mason and the people around him. ERLE STANLEY GARDNER , one of my favourite authors,  crossed over on 11 March 1970, but this movie is based on the characters he has created. Mom and I watched this the first time, then I watched it again just before

Mark Felt:The Man Who Brought the Whitehouse Down (2017) PG

Image
Gerald Ford was the President when I first memorized, The Pledge of Allegiance (the 1954 version).  These were events when I was already alive, but knew nothing of.  Events before Mr. Ford became President, thanks to Washington Post's DEEP THROAT(Mark Felt). Dad was feeling bad because of one of the companies where we could not talk to the people involved face to face, so he said, "Let's watch a movie."  We looked for a movie that was not going to make me late for a commitment and something that could make us relax.  The only one that fitted our schedule was MARK FELT and of course, I think most of us know by now that MARK FELT is Deep Throat or should I say "was"? Well, it may be in the past, but he is indeed Deep Throat.  May he and his wife Audrey rest in peace. The film has a good believable cast, thanks to its casting directors Lindsay Graham and  Mary Vernieu.  It's just sad this was not marketed well in this country. ‘Mark Felt’ D

American Made: Based on a True LIE (R-13) 2017

Barry Seal, a TWA pilot, is recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America and soon finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the United States. The operation spawns the birth of the Medellin cartel and  almost brings down the Reagan White House.-WWW Director :  Doug Liman Music composed by :  Christophe Beck Producers :  Ron Howard ,  Brian Grazer ,  Brian Oliver ,  Doug Davison ,  Tyler Thompson This is a SERIOUS movie.  Maybe there are a few funny  dialogues and situations, but this is NOT a funny movie.  It actually implicated a lot of political personalities like Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bill Clinton and some others.  It's like a great coverup, except that the claim is, it is based on a TRUE LIE.  One could interpret this in so many ways.  Either this really happened, or the claim of the trailers that this is based on a true story is the lie. It is not perfect, but it did deliver.  I can't wait for the next instalments.  Dylan O'Brien is becoming so in

The couple is propelled on a perilous journey through Paris and Bern, a safe house in the French Alps, to the murky corners of the City of London and an alliance with the British Government via a ruthless and determined MI6 agent.- Rotten Tomatoes Director: Susanna White Story by: John le Carré I never felt that I have any right to be a critic, but I agree with most of the critics of this movie, although there are disappointing parts, this movie is even better than book.  I watched this with my folks and they were quite lost in some scenes, but when they were able to catch up, they were

I felt all the rancor for Tony Javier, especially in this version.  Conrad Parham's portrayal of Tony Javier misleading the very innocent and hungry for love Paula Marasigan(Naty Crame-Rogers) was very abominable.  I wanted to throttle his neck. How dare he do that to her?  Do we give him credit for admitting "it" to her? Argh. I am writing about this beautiful masterpiece by Nick Joaquin because of ANG LARAWAN . I hope a lot of people get to watch th
