Alabang Town Center Cinema 4 Inspired by the real stories of Special Operations soldiers in the country known as the Philippine Scout Rangers, “ Ang Araw sa Likod Mo ” is an intense film filled with raw action that introduces brothers Jamiluddin (Cabrera) and Omar (Liwag) along with Sgt. Benjie Calayan (Medina) within the terrorist infested island in southern Philippines. ( source ) Tagline: “Bawa’t Paninindigan, May Kapalit.” (Every conviction demands a sacrifice). Earth Below Productions/OverMind ANG ARAW SA LIKOD MO (The Sun Behind You), Written and Directed by Dominic Carlo P. Nuesa , is a very timely critically acclaimed and award winning film.   Nuesa is a very fair writer.  Whether he sides with anyone or not, the film shows the travails of all sides.  The actors were not acting at all.  The soldiers looked and acted like real soldiers.  Ping Medina (Sgt. Benjie Calayan), like his Father, Pen, and his brother, Alex, is a true thespian.  He digs deeply

We silently prayed that he would enjoy the film and thankfully he did. It might be set in Elementary and High School, but the problems

King Arthur Legend of the Sword(PG-13) 2017

After the murder of his father, young Arthur's power-hungry uncle Vortigern seizes control of the crown. Robbed of his birthright, he grows up the hard way in the back alleys of the city, not knowing who he truly is. When fate leads him to pull the Excalibur sword from stone, Arthur embraces his tru e destiny to become a legendary fighter and leader.-WWW King Arthur has many version and one of my favorites is First Night.  Of course, I love its idyllic version called Camelot too and I sing its many songs, time and again.  The Knights of the Round Table is ideal.  Even if Arthur is a King, he listens to the opinions of his knights and they have equal rights. I watched this without reading the reviews first, and even with all the barbaric things and Arthur being a smart ass, I liked it.  I was disheartened to find out that a lot of people don't share my opinion. They call it a stinker. Why did I like it?  It's because mages did exist or probably they still do.  Vo

Alien Covenant (R-13) 2017

Prequel Number 2 :-p There's another "prequel" in the offing.  It's called Alien Awakening and they say it still contains three or more of the characters from this film. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival .- WWW Release date: May 19, 2017 (USA) Director: Ridley Scott Film series: Alien Music composed by: Jed Kurzel Screenplay: John Logan, D.W. Harper Argh.  We were able to walk out of "Life", but we weren't able to do so with this movie.  Why?  Because the start of the movie was quite interesting.  We knew it was a "prequel" to the Sigo

Dear Other Self (PG) 2017

From Jodi's Instagram.    Btw, she's one of my favourite actors because she's so versatile.  She can play any role and she definitely proved that in this movie. From Star Cinema What we are today are products of things we did in the past.  The unavoidable circumstances, the unforced errors, the decisions we make, so forth and so on.   Vanessa B. Velasco  and co-writer,  Jinky Laurel, present two situations and people have different reactions to it.  Some say it's like "Sliding Doors".  Others say it's like a mirror image or a parallel self.  Others say, since it's a "what if" film and the title says, "Dear Other Self", that one is real (the one with Xian in it) and the other one(the one with Joseph Marco in it) is not.   I guess others don't want to believe the other is not real because both situations have their own sets of triumphs and victories.   Xian and Joseph are both worthy leading men.  Diffe
