Orapronobis(Literally, Pray For Us)FIGHT FOR US -1989

After watching this again, I am REPOSTING an old short piece that I've written in 1989 .  Since it was banned here,  I watched it via the LaserDisc version months after it was shown in the Cannes Film Festival.  I just updated it a bit.  The movie's claim is that the events are real.  They just changed the names, the places and the exact locations. Source In a rural town dun by a cult leader, the film explores the murder of a foreign priest who gave last rites to a rebel.  -WWW Initial release: 24 May 1989 (France) Director: Lino Brocka Screenplay: Jose "Pete" F. Lacaba Production company: The Cannon Group, Inc. Music composed by: Hugo Crotti, Hubert Bougis If I am not mistaken this is real the reason our beloved President Corazon C. Aquino did not approve of Phillip Salvador not only as her daughter's lover, but as a person.  (added 5/18/2018) I know a lot of people who think that our dear President Corazon C. Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita (A Film By Lino Brocka) 1989 and The GMA 7 Sine Novela (Directed by Joel Lamangan) 2008

( SOURCE ) One of my favourite movies of all time is BABANGON AKO'T DUDURUGIN KITA...almost all Lino Brocka films, for me, are classics and worth watching. Revenge may sound sweet to those who have the means to destroy the lives of those who ruined theirs in the past, but in the end, you would realise that it is just a vicious cycle.  If you do win in the end, would you really feel like a winner? This is one of my favourite Bembol Roco films, and I think this is also one of the best Sharon Cuneta has ever starred in. I think besides the horror of politics and scandalous relationships, I think that one of the lessons of this movie is that we should never treat anyone we love as gods and make them our world because it would eventually destroy us.  Another lesson is that crime does not pay. Ruben Rustia, who plays Salve's dad, made us feel his displaced love for his daughter.  He had all the good intentions for his daughter, but his heart got broke...

PAUWI NA also known as PEDICAB (R-13) 2016

The Philippines answer to MODERN FAMILY :-p   One of my favourite scenes Bembol Roco(Mang Pepe), Cherry Pie Picache(Aling Remy), Meryll Soriano(Isabel), Jerald Napoles(JP) and Chai Fonacier(Pina) Dream Sequence The title is PAUWI NA(Going Home...On the Way Home...Homeward Bound) also known as PEDICAB(pedal pushed trike).  I read some international articles think that Pauwi Na's translation is Pedicab, though they get the story. The story, though sort of presented in a lighter manner, is very profound.  It's based on an article in the early 2000s when a family due to lack of funds wanted to go home to Leyte using just a pedicab. Of course, that's quite impossible because the bridge at the edge of southern luzon does not exist...yet. Having an irreverent sort of "Jesus Christ" is nothing new, but if you listen to his advices, towards the end, even if he did sort of judged all priests, you would like this Jesus played by JESS MENDOZA .  Thankfully...
