#WalangForever (2015)

From: One Minute Movie Review: ‘#WalangForever’   Everybody has a story.  Even the most monstrous person in the world has at least one person who loves him or her.  We are all unique, but we all have similarities too.  Since we have cable/satellite feeds nowadays you would find out that people do undergo the same thing, one way or another. Mia and Ethan's story is not exactly new, but the way it was(is) told, acted and executed is(was/are/were) very beautiful and almost seamless, if not seamless.  I have described other stories as such too. I share Mia and Ethan's joys and pains.  I admire their friends and family.  Their friends and family truly care for them.  I also related to most parts of this story. Like one critic, I thought of comparing this movie to a Nicholas Sparks story, but like that same person, I agree, it's not.  The story was weaved well and became a beautiful comforter or duvet in the end. My dad's reaction when Mia's first alter eg

From their FB page We almost never miss a Vic Sotto film during the MMFF because he never fails to make us laugh.  Maybe it's true that MMFF is no longer what it was since it started decades back, but without comic reliefs, it would be a sad festival.  Anyway, that's just my opinion. Among all the entries, this is what I watched first.  I wanted to watch Honor Thy Father first or All You Need is Pag-Ibig, but unfortunately they were both not playing in several cinemas nearby.  Dad was still in a meeting so mom and I took a chance in watching this.  We did not know what to expect.  Was it just media hype or something?  Maybe.  Maybe not.   Would dad like this if ever?   The answer is no.   Even if dad does watch local flicks, this is not what he would enjoy, but mom and I did have a barrel of laughs. We were very, very impressed with Maine Mendoza.  It is obvious that she does not have an empty brain.  She also acted so well and she also displayed sa

A Second Chance (2015)---NOT a review (updated)

Teaser Bea Alonzo as Arch. Basha Belinda Eugenio-Gonzales (She has always been beautiful, but she was even more beautiful here.  Her acting was almost seamless...and probably it was---seamless, I mean) John Lloyd Cruz as Engr. Rodolfo 'Popoy ' Gonzales (Without a doubt, he is a great actor) Billy Crawford as Pedro (everyone did well, but I admire how Billy Crawford personified Pedro) Arci Muñoz as Ara, Popoy's FB in Qatar (Wow, in PASION de AMOR she plays a classy woman...here, she played a jologs, but talented woman quite well) Al Tantay as Tito Willie (no role is too small for him...he's really good) Dimples Romana as Krizzy (another versatile actor---as always, she did great) Janus Del Prado as Chinno  (it's in the blood---he's a natural!) James Blanco as Kenneth (mom did not recognize James Blanco---I watched this movie two times courtesy of my ePlus tap to pay card---she thought the one playing the role of Kenneth was really blind) Bea Saw

The Secret in Their Eyes

Licensed under Fair use via Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Secret_in_Their_Eyes_poster.jpg#/media/File:Secret_in_Their_Eyes_poster.jpg The phenomenal hit   El secreto de sus ojos   by Señor Juan José Campanella(who is also one of the producers of the Hollywood film)  was a tough act to follow, so a remake was out of the question, but Billy Ray still dared to recreate it.  It had some of Hollywood's best actors, so what could go wrong, right? Still, when it was shown some weeks ago, it had mixed reviews. Where do I stand? Since I was not able to watch the Argentinian original, I watched the movie with innocent  eyes.  I journeyed with Ray, Claire, Jess and Bumpy.  Journeyed?  It was more like the Anchors Aweigh ride at famous amusement park in the country or a pendulum.  We swung back and forth, back and forth, back and forth in a hypnotic spell(redundant?).   I felt the tension and even got angry with
