Wildflower's Wildest Ending (Tutok na tutok) ABS-CBN

Image
Crime and other evils still exist, but the innate goodness in man prevails. The ending wasn't as wild as I imagined it to be because among all Wildflower episodes, nothing beats the helicopter scene where Maja Salvador kept on convincing herself that she is NOT Maja, but Lily Cruz and she successfully made the scene more beautiful than her gorgeous face. At any rate, they were successful in making the whole week not so predictable.  The dialogues were still exaggerated, but like what they said, it was on purpose, and it works. On the Live FB feed, thousands of people watched it along with the cast. Did I like the ending? I like and love it.  It's like a quieting song and so what if the other scenes were anticlimactic?   At least we didn't get heart attacks or something. I like that Emilia had a redeeming factor and Julio got his just deserts. Kudos to EVERYONE involved in this project. All the best to you all!   #Barcelo...

Wild Flower (only more than a week to go) SPG (Abs-Cbn)

Ven Abrenica, Maja Salvador, Joseph Marco and RK Bagatsing ( source ) Developed by Direk Ruel S. Bayani  Created by Willy Laconsay Writers: Carmela L. Abaygar Jones Castro Thea Magbanua Edeline Romero Carol Navarro Melchor Escarcha Arlene Tamayo Directors: Onat Diaz Raymund Ocampo Cathy Camarillo Digo Ricio Jerome Pobocan Roderick P. Lindayag Genre: Action/Drama/Romance Except for the 1960's Batman style exaggerated dialogue when they are about to kill each other(they really mean for it to be that  way...to reiterate, they do it on purpose), the story is actually a good one for prime time, but if I were to choose a time slot, I would put it around 9:30 PM, when the younger kids are sound asleep. It's not enough to put SPG(Strong/Strict Parental Guidance) because a lot of scenes are really traumatising and the truth of the matter is, whether a young kid has a television or not, he or she would have access to it if a nei...

Dear Other Self (PG) 2017

Image
From Jodi's Instagram.    Btw, she's one of my favourite actors because she's so versatile.  She can play any role and she definitely proved that in this movie. From Star Cinema What we are today are products of things we did in the past.  The unavoidable circumstances, the unforced errors, the decisions we make, so forth and so on.   Vanessa B. Velasco  and co-writer,  Jinky Laurel, present two situations and people have different reactions to it.  Some say it's like "Sliding Doors".  Others say it's like a mirror image or a parallel self.  Others say, since it's a "what if" film and the title says, "Dear Other Self", that one is real (the one with Xian in it) and the other one(the one with Joseph Marco in it) is not.   I guess others don't want to believe the other is not real because both situations have their own sets of triumphs and victories.   Xian and Joseph are both worthy leading men. ...

TALK BACK AND YOU'RE DEAD (2014) #TBYD

Image
Alabang Town Center Cinema 4 Facebook Page Talk Back And You're Dead is the first installment of the Talk Back Trilogy of  Alesana Marie  originally published in WATTPAD, but can now be bought at any of the National Bookstore or Power Books Branches Nationwide.  It revolves around childhood sweethearts Timmy and Sammy, their friends, family and other people close to them. Although it is also a movie about school gangsters, it is very, very different from SHE'S DATING A GANGSTER .  For me, this story is very reminiscent of the kind of movies Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion did during their teenage years, most especially the ones produced by Viva Films, but different. The helicopters, the large estates, rich feuding families, fixed marriages, etc.   The movie version is written by Keiko Aquino and directed by Andoy Ranay ( Trophy Wife ).  I think I am getting fond of this team.  People still found flaws, but hey.  ...
