Thor Ragnarok (2017) PG (not really a review)

Image
Bonifacio High Street Cinemas, Central Square, BGC Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.- WWW In Thor 2, it was implied or established that Thor, Loki and Odin were not really gods, but a highly advanced species who likened to gods.  In Thor Ragnarok they are back to being Norse gods. This movie made all of us happy.  It has two strings of after credits teasers and the script was well-written, with the best line coming from a Make-A-Wish-Kid . We had lots of laughs(including the part where they seemingly promoted to the Filipino audience the Vice Ganda-Pia Wurtzbach-Daniel Padilla Christmas movie---LOL---I'm sure most of the moviegoers at the Bonifacio High ...

Just Like Heaven (2005) ---another film I watch over and over agan

(click this if you want to purchase the poster from the source) Sometimes you just " know it " by a mere touch of the hand   ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Have you ever wondered why there are times when you meet someone for the first time that there is an unexplained connection between the two of you?  There are times you feel that you have seen that person before and if you haven't, you wonder why you are drawn to that person? Some get freaked out when they think people are just giving them pickup lines when they say, "I've seen you in my dreams."  I can't blame them because more often than not, they, the speakers, I mean, are indeed just uttering a line  or something. When two people are meant to be, no matter what the odds are, they will be together. This is what happened with Elizabeth and David. It's a ten-year-old movie.  I wonder if I should give spoilers or not.  Anyways, in Elizabeth's case, Elizabeth dreamed of a beautiful garden. How ...

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

It's a good thing that we were really joyfully anticipating this movie or else we would have been greatly disappointed because it was the only movie showing in every cinema of SM City BF Parañaque "When Disney acquired Marvel, the lines became funnier, 'Tati'!" as observed by my eight(8) year old nephew. I agree with him.  The scenes were still violent, but bearable.  I took to heart the parental guidance thing and tried to be alert every time he asked a question.  His dad was on the other side, but he chose to ask me stuff.  He did turn to his dad when he wanted to go... ;-) My nephew loves his parents, most especially his mom, but I'm happy that he also thinks highly of me.  ;-) During the first few minutes, I was lost in space(not the movie's fault, but I was distracted by something ), but after a few minutes, I was into it.  Every scene was exciting...well, maybe not every  scene, but to us, it sure felt like it. Others squirmed bec...

Zodiac 2007

Image
When movies are based on books, I feel sad for the screenwriter because most of the time the people who read the book would say, "I like the book better."  I myself am very, very guilty of this, but when I put myself in the writer for the screen adaptation's shoes, I understand that not all the elements could be included.  There are a few screenplays that are even better than the book and there's this very rare case when book and the movie are on equal footing. This is one of them. Zodiac is very faithful to the book.  Yes, it is still very impossible to include everything, but all the important elements of the book are included here.  The events were checked by the screenwriter, meaning, it is also as accurate as accurate could be. With a great story, powerhouse cast, great screenplay and magnificent direction, how could this movie go wrong? What am I saying? There are movies with the same elements, but still don't go well with their box office resul...
