Ruel S. Bayani's KASAL (2018)

Source #Cebu #PauloAvelino #DerekRamsay #BeaAlonzo #RuelSBayani My mouth is agape. What a great story! The actors were carefully chosen! Wow! Great twist and ending! Great direction! 😊 (Please pardon the exclamation points.)   Basing on the trailer I already guessed what the "truth" is, but I wasn't able to guess certain scenes, plus I love the ending. I loved how the actors were all immersed into their roles.  Everyone's role, whether big or small is important. Source I also loved that they showcased how beautiful Cebu is.  The LED flowers in Day-as, Cordova ( 10,000 Roses Cafe & More ), the Adarna's  Temple of Leah , Source among other picturesque places and modern infrastructure. THE ACTING: We love Ms. Celeste Legaspi , but we loved her more because she took advantage of her beautiful platinum hair and allowed herself to look older(she looks so young in person) to be Lia's grandma.  She also acted...

CONTRA MUNDUM(Defy the World): ANG LARAWAN, The Musical (Parental Guidance)

From Google images For non-Filipino speakers, there are English Subtitles # contramundum   # defytheworld   # showlarawansomelove The 1965 movie was in full English with some Spanish and it left a deep mark in my heart.  Even if I was never deprived of love lives through the years, right now, I am over the hill and considered a spinster by a lot of condescending and "caring" people alike, so I really found Tony Javier's character deplorable.  In the musical movie that almost was not shown during the Metro Manila Film Festival 2017 even if it was critically acclaimed elsewhere, Tony Javier is still an a-hole, and that same a-hole was personified by Paulo Avelino. The Late National Artist Rolando S. Tinio's Screenplay makes the audience feel that every scene is real, so what if a character breaks into song once in a while?  There were funny and witty lines too.  Even if it was faithful to the National Artist, Nick Joaquin's origi...

After the concert I was so high above the clouds that if only I was spotless, I wouldn't mind knocking on heaven's door to ask God to let me enter.  While watching the concert I let some words dance in my head as I was trying to conjure what the content of this blog is.  When my folks and I reached home, all those things I prepared to say vanished into thin air. After 30 long years, the Celestial Diva(I'm borrowing this from Igan D'Bayan ) returned to the centre stage to wow everyone in the Theatre at Solaire. I see Ms. Gallardo (if there's someone from another corner of the world who does not know this, Ms. Legaspi married a wonderful man, a genius fondly called Nonoy Gallardo ---his real name is Domingo, just like my lolo and my uncle who owns Retro 105.9 DCG FM, one of the many media partners of this concert) around.  Sometimes when I go walking or in a stage play(i.e. American Hwangap ) or a teleserye(i.e. Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real ) or in Church, where ...
