The Christmas Train(2017)/The Christmas Pageant (2011)

Image
The Christmas Train is one of the best stories ever written for all time, and not just about Christmas.  In MY opinion, it has an all-star cast spearheaded by DANNY GLOVER, KIMBERLY WILLIAMS-PAISLEY, JOAN CUSACK, KAREN HOLNESS, JOHN INNES, NELSON WONG, TERRENCE KELLY and JILL TEED.   I love the way TIPPI and NEAL DOBROFSKY wrote it, and how RON OLIVER directed it. The book the movie was based on #TheChristmasTrainbyDavidBaldacci I also like the chemistry Dermot Mulroney and Kimberly Williams-Paisley have.  I am not certain if this is their only movie together as screen partners, but they sure make a good onscreen pair. Everyone did their parts right.  It sort of felt like Murder on the Orient Express, sans the murder, but I also love how the scenes were orchestrated , wink, wink! I also like the fact that I've been admiring the actors since the 1980s, at the very least...except for Kimberly and Karen because I only "met" them i...

Like Cats and Dogs (2017)

Written and Directed by Ron Oliver based on Aaron Mendelsohn's original story Mr. Oliver collaborated with Aaron Mendelsohn in writing the teleplay With six other blog entries pending, I chose to write this first while it's still fresh in my head.  I surely love the canine and the feline actors who played Frank and Mozart respectively.  They could really act.  Whoever trained them should be honoured because he or she taught them well.  If you watch the movie, I'm sure you're going to enjoy this. The first time I watched this via youtube, I was so disappointed.  It was not because of the story, acting, scenery or anything, because all aforementioned were all done well, at the very least.  It was because the uploader, besides misleading everyone about the title of movie, made everyone miss out on the the ending.    Yes, it was anticlimactic, but still, we did not want to be deprived of the ending. CASSIDY GIFFORD looks very young, but ...

Date With Love (2016)

Image
In my opinion there are two female(Shenae and Bailee) leads and two male leads(Andrew and Quinn).  It is very much the story between Heidi and David, as much as it is between Vincent and Alex. Written by BROOK DURHAM Directed by RON OLIVER 🎬 There were many things that made me shrug my shoulders, but I'll just focus on the things that made me smile: 1. ANDREW W. WALKER stars in this film; 2. I like how BAILEE MADISON blossomed into a pretty young lady.  Some child stars look awkward once they turn into teenagers, but not Bailee; 3. SHENAE GRIMES-BEECH looks good with Andrew; 4. ANDREA BROOKS was awesome as the best friend/publicist named Paige; 5.  MILLI WILKINSON, one of my favourite little girls, plays the little sister of one of the male protagonists(QUINN LORD) and 6. This movie is paying homage to JOHN HUGHES Oh, maybe I should add that it's great DREW RAY TANNER plays a heartthrob here...someone who breaks the heart of a big star.  I don't ...

Perfect Match (2015)

Google Images Forced to work together, two wedding planners learn that opposites can produce the most unexpected results. Initial release: 20 June 2015 Directed by Ron Oliver Written by Patricia Resnick  Original release: June 20, 2015 Executive producer(s): Harry Winer; Fernando Szew; Kim Arnott; Robyn Snyder Music composed by: Peter Allen Eversince THE WONDER YEARS Danica McKellar has been very busy.  She starred in a Sci-Fi movie called HEATSTROKE with D.B. Sweeney in 2008 and she has been a favourite voice for video games, among other things.   It's nice that she is not stuck in one genre acting wise because I truly enjoyed this heartwarming movie about a woman who has been crashed and burned, but she still believes in love. I can really relate to Jessica(Danica's role) because besides being crashed and burned several times, I too still believe in love.  I was also an events, wedding and kiddie party planner sometime ago, and ...

Diagnosis Delicious (2016)

( source ) From imdb No worries, I know that I was just watching a movie, but I can't help it.  That smile and those dancing eyes of Ryan Rottman were enough to love this movie, add to it the story created by Alex Greenfield, Joelle Sellner(who also wrote the teleplay, btw) and Ben Powell, plus the acting of the carefully chosen cast, and of course, the direction of Ron Oliver, made me love it even more. The story is predictable and unpredictable all at the same time.  It was not boring and it had three side stories or more.  I cried in some parts, but thankfully it's a PixL movie, so it has many light and uplifting parts. Would I watch it again? Of course. Yes, I definitely would!
