Travis Kraft and Tuesday Vargas shine in Filipino movie Ang Turkey Man ay Pabo Rin To blog or not to blog about this was the greatest debacle ever...NOT! My rule is that if I have nothing good to say or I am dumbfounded, then I won't blog about it. It just took me a while before writing about this, but I'm telling you, it's worth it.  There are lots of good things this movie has to offer.  It's more than a comedy.  It is about different cultures and what Matthew(Travis Kraft) discovered, there is unity in diversity. Cookie(Tuesday Vargas) and I belong to different social classes, but I can't say I am better than her, because I am not.  Why did it take time for me to write about this then? I wanted to think of a catchy phrase that would entice people to see it. Well, I still couldn't compose something spectacular, so what the hey? I'll just write from the heart. What is it with me and South Korea?  I was just simply fascinated with "her" since my first transit there ages ago.  The first Korean thing I learned to cook was their barbecue then I learned to cook their pancakes and their Korean Beef plus so much more. I have been studying the language on and off(most especially when my almost deaf eomma/mommy/mater started to mostly depend on subtitles, she got hooked with Koreanovelas), but unlike those I have been using since I was a little girl(English, Filipino(Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon), German and Spanish), it takes long for me to study any language(I know bits and pieces of Pangasinense, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Bahasa(both Indonesian and Malaysian), Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Nihonggo, Portuguese, Dutch/Flemish etc.), but right now, I am trying to get serious with it. Hangugeo jogeum halsu isseoyo (I can speak a little Korean)but hopefully I would get better in time.  ;-) South Korea is a big part of the story. ...

A certified blockbuster/box office hit It's true.  I am one of those who love the AlDub tandem, though I must say that I'm a late bloomer.  I didn't jump the bandwagon all at once.  It took time for me to appreciate these two young artists as a pair, but they "grew on me". Even if I love them, I was so out of the loop for the longest time that when one of my closest friends invited me and another of my closest friends to watch #IYAM, I never imagined I would like it so much...that WE would like is so much. The quality of the film is of International Caliber.  Only a portion of the film was shot in the Philippines, but even if almost the whole movie was set in Italy, the story captures the hearts of Global Filipinos anywhere in the world(yes, it seems redundant, but...). Facebook Rappler Review by Zig Marasigan The trailer above made me joyfully wait for this movie to be shown in the cinemas.  Yes, yes, there was a more important event coming and I haven't forgotten who the real reason for the season is, but it made me list this as the first movie to watch on Christmas Day.
