Love You to the Stars and Back (PG) 2017 #LYTTSAB #LYSB

From Wikipedia:  Feeling out place in her own home, an eccentric and socially awkward girl, Mika (Julia Barretto), decides to go on a road trip with a very strange goal – to look for aliens. In her trip, Mika accidentally bumps into a simple and good-humored boy, Caloy (Joshua Garcia), whom she chooses to give a free ride to until he reaches his destination. Mika is surprised to know that Caloy has cancer. But despite his condition, he has learned to accept his fate and remained positive and joyful. The two embark on a roadtrip filled with adventures and misadventures, not knowing that it will lead them to experiencing their most memorable romance at such a young age. They unexpectedly teach each other an important lesson on love and life – one that takes most people a lifetime to learn. Love You To The Stars and Back Theatrical Release Poster http://www.starcinema.abs-cbn.com   It is really best to watch something with (sort of) a clean slate.  When one of my friends wer

( source ) Jude/Judith Marie(Chai Fonacier), Bert/Hubert(Vincent Viado), Iyay/Maria Fatima(Jaclyn Jose), Mia(Precious Miel Espinoza), Jay(Melde Montañez) and Hudas the cute dog  Wow.  Just wow!  Except for Ms. Jaclyn Jose, the film fest princess/chameleon, Chai Fonacier, Olive Nieto and Angela "Mailes" Kanapi, this is the first time I've encountered the rest of the cast and I must say that they are all great thespians, including Vincent Viado(great actor and graceful dancer), Precious Miel Espinoza(little Mia) and Hudas the dog(don't know the dog's real name). It was great traveling with Iyay and her brood.  We were able to see the sights of Cebu and Dumaguete, feel the different emotions of Iyay and her kids, etc. Chai Fonacier is amazing.  I am speechless. Mailes, you are truly brave and you really act well.  A natural, indeed! We laughed, we cried, got angry---wait, I'm reiterating myself---yes, different emotions were felt b

The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) R

Image
The world's top protection agent is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world's most notorious hit men. The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During  their journey from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator who is out for blood.-WWW Note:  Not for the very young and faint of heart.  There is morbid humor, some irreverent expletives, violence and many more things not laudable, but there's true love and the "no killing of innocents" kind of thing. Leadership Lessons and Quotes from The Hitman's Bodyguard Maybe it's not the best movie ever written and created, but the scenes are pretty exciting...just forget about morality and all because while you are watching this film.  The former President of Belarus pl

PAUWI NA also known as PEDICAB (R-13) 2016

The Philippines answer to MODERN FAMILY :-p   One of my favourite scenes Bembol Roco(Mang Pepe), Cherry Pie Picache(Aling Remy), Meryll Soriano(Isabel), Jerald Napoles(JP) and Chai Fonacier(Pina) Dream Sequence The title is PAUWI NA(Going Home...On the Way Home...Homeward Bound) also known as PEDICAB(pedal pushed trike).  I read some international articles think that Pauwi Na's translation is Pedicab, though they get the story. The story, though sort of presented in a lighter manner, is very profound.  It's based on an article in the early 2000s when a family due to lack of funds wanted to go home to Leyte using just a pedicab. Of course, that's quite impossible because the bridge at the edge of southern luzon does not exist...yet. Having an irreverent sort of "Jesus Christ" is nothing new, but if you listen to his advices, towards the end, even if he did sort of judged all priests, you would like this Jesus played by JESS MENDOZA .  Thankfully

100 Tula Para Kay Stella (PG) 2017

Naka move on na po ako...natuwa lang ako sa eksena na ito. This blog entry might have a few spoilers, but I'll try my very best to have none, unless I couldn't help it. How do I start this entry then? Maybe I'll start with what I like best and probably you would consider this a spoiler:  Fidel(JC Santos) was able to gain confidence because his roommate and his org mates believed in him.  When people have potential, we should not bring them down and we shouldn't laugh at their imperfections.  Instead, we should encourage them to be the best of what they could be.  Sometimes that's all people need.  A pat on the back...a bit of a push...they don't need jeerers and hecklers who tantamount to being bullies. I also like the ending.  It proves that EVERY scene is important. There is integration and every character or at least every main character learned a thing or two leading them to be wiser and more mature.  In the middle of the story I reall

After the concert I was so high above the clouds that if only I was spotless, I wouldn't mind knocking on heaven's door to ask God to let me enter.  While watching the concert I let some words dance in my head as I was trying to conjure what the content of this blog is.  When my folks and I reached home, all those things I prepared to say vanished into thin air. After 30 long years, the Celestial Diva(I'm borrowing this from Igan D'Bayan ) returned to the centre stage to wow everyone in the Theatre at Solaire. I see Ms. Gallardo (if there's someone from another corner of the world who does not know this, Ms. Legaspi married a wonderful man, a genius fondly called Nonoy Gallardo ---his real name is Domingo, just like my lolo and my uncle who owns Retro 105.9 DCG FM, one of the many media partners of this concert) around.  Sometimes when I go walking or in a stage play(i.e. American Hwangap ) or a teleserye(i.e. Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real ) or in Church, where
