How to be Single (2016) R-16

Image
Alison Brie, Rebel Wilson, Dakota Johnson and Leslie Mann In a nutshell: After watching that unedifying movie the night before, even if this is also wild, I must say I like this better.  True friendships, baby steps, relationship goals, finding oneself and true love are tackled here, so I think I could overlook the tons of unnecessary parts.  I also like the fact that Meg and Alice are great siblings.  That's all folks.  I'm not so comfortable to write about the rest.  Just check out the links of the reviews below.  After four years of college, young Alice (Dakota Johnson) decides she needs a break from her long-term boyfriend Josh. Excited and ready for new challenges, the eager grad moves to New York to take a job as a paralegal. Helping her navigate her way through an unfamiliar city is Robin (Rebel Wilson), a fun-loving, wild co-worker who enjoys partying and one-night stands. With Robin as her freewheeling guide, Alice can now learn how to...

Black Mass (2015) R16 due to violence, drugs, profanity and other crimes

Image
Cinema 1 2nd Floor, CommerCenter, Commerce Avenue corner East Asia Drive, Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa The movie is mostly set in Boston and Boston is in Mass achusetts.  Whitey Bulger, an Echelon informant, and his cohorts sold their souls to the devil. The film is based on a non-fiction account of the FBI's dealings with Bulger written by former  Boston Globe  reporters Dick Lehr and Gerald O'Neill and titled  Black Mass: Whitey Bulger, the FBI, and a Devil's Deal . ( source ) After more than a month of waiting, finally, I've been able to watch Johnny Depp's latest movie called BLACK MASS.  There was no dull moment, but there were a lot of changes of emotions: scared, happy, thrilled, frightened, excited, scared again, et cetera, et cetera, then relieved.  Relieved?  Why so?  Well, when true to life characters are being portrayed by actors and you momentarily forget you are just watching a movie, it would seem li...

Need for Speed 2014 (Definitely NOT a review)

Image
( source ) This would be short and simple.  I liked it.  I can't say I loved it, but I liked it.  I think Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots really have on-screen chemistry(they also had a Valentine movie called LONG WAY DOWN ). Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson's Dakota appears as Anita, the former love of Tobey's life and I believe she delivered.  I am so tempted to compare this movie to THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, but the only things similar are the speeding cars, friendship and camaraderie.  Other than that, the story is totally different.   By the way, there's only a quarter of a story .  The three quarters are mostly racing cars and different kinds of air transportation. ;-) Anyways, even if I didn't love it, I enjoyed it very, very much.  I can't wait for the sequel.    THE END :) Links to reviews: The Playlist Rotten Tomatoes Forbes.com Metacritic From the WWW: The story chronicles a near-impossible cross-cou...
