Arms dealer John Lark and a group of terrorists known as the Apostles plan to use three plutonium cores for a simultaneous nuclear attack on the Vatican, Jerusalem and Mecca, Saudi Arabia. When the weapons go missing, Ethan and his crew find themselves in a desperate race against time to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.-WWW Director: Christopher McQuarrie Music composed by: Lorne Balfe Producers: Tom Cruise, Christopher McQuarrie, Dana Goldberg, J.J. Abrams, David Ellison, Don Granger Cast from Wikipedia : Although this is not the best Mission Impossible franchise ever, but according to some it is, the scenes were nail-biting, most especially the ones in high places(before transferring to our original seats and theatre, we were able to have a...

The Boss Baby (G in the Philippines, PG elsewhere) 2017

Image
A new baby's arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator -- a wildly imaginative 7-year-old named Tim. The most unusual Boss Baby (Alec Baldwin) arrives at Tim's home in a taxi, wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase. The instant sibling rivalry must soon be put aside when Tim discovers that Boss Baby is actually a spy on a secret mission, and only he can help thwart a dastardly plot that involves an epic battle between puppies and babies.- imdb Director's Club at Conrad Manila's S Maison The Boss Baby is a fun movie.  We have planned to watch this since last March after reading that it beat Beauty and The Beast at the box office tills. I prefer B & t B over TBB.  Just saying... 👮👮👮👮👮 Ted and Janice prepared Tim for "Boss Baby" or Ted Jr. or Teddy, but Tim said he is enough(Mom Janice was very much pregnant at that time---ergo, Teddy was born and did not really arrive in a taxi...

Mission Impossible: ROGUE NATION (2015)

Image
We were very psyched to watch MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION since it was announced and we are glad that we watched it at The CommerCenter Cinemas, Filinvest, Alabang.  I like the feel of the place and the sound system is good.  The staff's very friendly and helpful. I am not really a fan of Tom Cruise, but I am an avid fan of the Mission Impossible series and some of his other movies.  Sadly, like a lot of things I have written, my pieces are lost somewhere in cyberspace and as for those files inadvertently deleted by some people close to me, they are now lost in outer space. Even if I am not a fan of Mr. Cruise, I am very impressed with him.  At fifty-three, he is very fit, fast and you cannot discount the fact that he is very handsome and looks young for his age. He is a good actor and he definitely is Ethan Hunt. Oh yes, he is.  His team, although a few of them are left, is still very, very reliable.   Ale...

Blue Jasmine, a beautiful, but tragic film by Woody Allen (2013)

Image
Trailer There is no doubt that this is a very well-acted film. The choices of characters were perfect and each did their jobs well, most especially Cate Blanchett and Sally Hawkins, who play non-biological sisters(Jasmine and Ginger were both adopted by their parents).   Among the men, I think I like Peter Skargaard's acting the best.  Alec Baldwin was also good, but he's too used (or typecast) to playing that kind of role.    Charlie Tahan, who plays the young Danny, was exceptional.  Maybe I'm just biased because I've already gotten fond of him because of his other movies. I don't know why Woody Allen decided to end it that way , but I guess it worked because the movie was not a flop.  It was even a box office success. I know a lot of people like Jasmine.  Most of the time, when a person who had it all almost all of his or her life loses everything (or almost everything),  he or she could not cope.  He or she would ha...

Mercury Rising-1998 (for the nth time)

Image
This movie is important to me because of Simon( Miko Hughes )'s character.  A genius locked inside an autistic boy(autistic savant). My two younger brothers who are now in heaven were autistic savants too.  They might not have been as brilliant as Simon, but I'm mighty proud of them and I miss them so much. Reviews?  Leave it to the experts:   My favorite movie critic's review (Roger Ebert) Rotten Tomatoes Portrayal of autism in Mercury rising Handsome Miko John Hughes. He played his role as an autistic savant well. Is it just me, or was this little guy really a scene stealer? ;-) The guns Bruce Willis used Miko Hughes being intwrviewed about his role
