The Amazing Spider Man 2 (2014)

Image
A friend of mine who was losing his faith in the Spider-man franchise felt good and is now very excited to watch Spider-man 3.  I have a the same sentiments.   The movie is amazing from start to finish.  I now understand why Mary Jane was not introduced in the first installment and in this current one.  It's because it's Gwen Stacy's moment .  It just wouldn't be right to ruin that moment. The special participation of Stan Lee always adds life to any Marvel Comic based movie and this is no exception. The special effects, the acting, everything...everything's great! Even the villains are exceptional.  My seven-year-old nephew even knows the drill .  He stayed until the end credits.  He's excited because the X-men and Spidey would... ;-) (I told him that maybe his guess was wrong, but he's still excited anyways) Anyways, this Spidey movie is not without flaws, but for me, it's one of the best versions ever. Do watch it wh

RIO 2 (Parental Guidance) 2014 in 3D

My nephew and I have been waiting for this movie ever since it was announced.  We have seen RIO several times together and apart. Finally, the day came.  We were pretty psyched. Rio de Janeiro(RdJ) is very important to me in more ways than one, but this second one is focused on Mother Nature herself and RdJ just did a cameo .  :-p   Wow!  This is a very beautiful movie and if you truly care for the preservation of the rain forest, flora, fauna...well, of living things...you should watch this movie.   There are many, many things little kids below four years old(or probably even older kids, but I'm glad that my seven-year-old nephew understood the movie) might ask you so better get ready. My advice to those parents or guardians who have kids that would watch 3D(same principle for IMAX viewers) for the first time is to brief them before entering the cinema.  You see, EVERYONE experiences the "fear of the unknown" and of course, a little child is not

Diary ng Panget (Movie, PG) 2014 #DNP

https://www.facebook.com/DiaryNgPangetMovie2014 THE TRAILER We did not have plans of watching this film.  Yes, we weren't looking forward to it.  We did not even know that versatile performers like Candy Pangilian, Mitch Valdez and Gabby Concepcion were included in the supporting cast.  It just so happened that my parents are senior citizens of the City of Parañaque and were a little bored yesterday afternoon.  It was a Tuesday and they could avail of any of the "free for seniors" movie in any SM Cinema in the  City of Parañaque (Bicutan, Sucat and SM City BF  Parañaque). They've seen everything so they were forced to watch DIARY NG PANGET.  I, of course, did not mind. While the credits were shown, I saw the names of aforementioned actors, Andoy Ranay(a very respectable director) and Tara Illenberger(someone I admire greatly for her work).   "Dada, respectable people are behind this film. Don't worry. Who knows? You might enjoy th

SON of GOD (film) 2014

The very charismatic Diogo Morgado as Jesus Christ I was very apprehensive to watch the Church of Scientology and the Lightworkers Media movie called SON of GOD , but I watched it anyway and even enjoyed it. Guess what?!?  I even shed a tear or two. Yes, John 21:24-25 states:  New International Version (NIV) 24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true. 25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.  Truly, it would be impossible to put everything there, but to change the events and why His words were uttered... Here's one person's view about the movie: http://truedsicernment.com/2014/03/04/something-is-very-seriously-wrong-with-the-son-of-god-movie/   BTW, Herod was missing and Pilate was so evil here...Barabbas was just put to prison the day before...Jesus did

Something to Talk About- 1995 (Another movie I don't get tired of watching)

When Marion Dougherty , CSA, chose Julia Roberts and Kyra Sedgwick to be sisters, she knew what she was doing.  If they weren't known actors and I saw them walking together, let's say at the mall, I would probably think they're flesh and blood.  The similarities are just too strong.  Callie Khouri's love for her family and her versatility help her create beautiful endearing stories that touch the hearts of movie goers and couch potatoes.   SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT is the second best story that she weaved(the best is THELMA AND LOUISE, in my opinion). If I didn't know better, I would think that Robert Duvall and Gena Rowlands are really husband and wife. It's a good thing I wasn't the one who cast this film.  I would never imagine pairing Dennis Quaid with Julia Roberts, but Ms. Dougherty saw something  that clicked. Their onscreen partnership worked and since I'm watching this movie again and again, I must say, it still
