Blended(2014)

(source) Directed by  Frank Coraci Written by  Clare Sera and  Ivan Menchell   Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore know that they have good onscreen chemistry so a third movie together was definitely not a bad idea.  This was proven last year when the film was released.  They earned more than 300% than their budget.  A lot of people loved the humor plus some other stuff.   Is the story original?  Of course not.  There's THE BRADY BUNCH; YOURS, MINE, OURS plus a whole lot more.  Still, there was something that made me watch this.    This movie is a combination of a comedy of disasters, family life and eventually finding true love. Lauren and Jim did not like each other at first sight and it took a lot of time together before they discovered that they are probably right for each other, but even so, there were a lot of doubts each of them had to conquer. Each child has a back story and each of their stories is vital.   I still like 50 First Dates and The Wedding Sing

Conspiracy Theory(1997)

( Source ) Way before Mel Gibson went ballistic and ruined his life, at least according to the fourth estate, I was an avid fan.  I would watch the MAD MAX series, the LETHAL WEAPON series, and almost everything else including THE PATRIOT and BRAVE HEART.  For me, he was not just a sight for sore eyes, he was also a very versatile actor, among other great things.  He could make one laugh, cry, tensed and perhaps bring out all those emotions that one may not have realized that was inside him or her all along. CONSPIRACY THEORY is one of those films of his that became close to my heart, partly because ever since I was a little girl I would sort of think that there's some sort of conspiracy about everything, climate change included. ..yes, even involving the universe , that I have seen this movie countless times.   Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts, Patrick Stewart and the rest of the troop got me involved in everything.  From the first scene until the last, at least for me, th

Every emotion is important This is a philosophical movie disguised a film for children.  Of course, a lot of children enjoyed this film because of the animation, sense of humor and the things going inside the head of people.  In the cinema where we watched this, everyone enjoyed, except for one child because the little one was so affected with the movie, he or she wailed so loudly that the parents had to bring him or her out.  I really couldn't decipher the gender of the child. There were a lot of scenes that were heartwarming and touching scenes.  A lot of scenes were funny, but a lot of scenes were scary too.  I guess all kinds of inner ramblings of the pre-puberty stage were tackled. I think I like the work of the whole team.  The conceptualization, treatment and execution definitely caused a lot of sleepless nights, but thankfully, all their hard work was not in vain. When the trailer was shown I wondered how the whole movie was going to be presented and I mu

The Love Affair (2015) R-13

The long-awaited film has finally arrived  and what made me interested in this film is the fact that even if Adrianne is  the other woman , she was not the cause of the rocky marriage between Vincent and Trish. Addie is a very intelligent, but scarred woman.  She underwent a lot of pain and trouble that she never imagined herself being in a situation  she hated  so much.  Everything she wanted to tell her dad's mistress and her fiancé's lover were uttered   to her by her lover's wife, but what touched  her soul was when the eldest and only girl talked to her, and she saw herself in her shoes.    Yes, you may say that this is an immoral movie, but this is also very touching indeed.  I cried, I laughed, I felt joy and peace, most especially towards the end of the film. Why did I cry?  There were a lot of moving scenes, most especially in the hospital.  I remembered my brothers and a whole lot more. Last night, when Boy Abunda was interviewing Bea, she said s

I have been seeing this poster for the longest time, but for some reason, I never saw the description of the movie.  We had a heavy day today, so we wanted to watch something light , so mom and I chose to watch this.  We were not prepared because we had no idea that this was a serious movie.  It did have light moments towards the end, but what these young people have experienced really broke a lot of hearts and are still breaking a lot of hearts.  Wow, I'm on a roll.  I have watched about five(5) movies without anything to prejudge the movie.  It is a beautiful movie that gives people hope.  Perseverance does have its rewards and true FAITH gives you courage and strength, Here's the summary from the Worldwide Web:    After their village is destroyed and their parents killed by Northern militia, Sudanese orphans Theo, his siblings and other survivors make a difficult journey to a refugee camp in Kenya. Thirteen years later, the group gets the chance to settle in the U.S.

Mission Impossible: ROGUE NATION (2015)

We were very psyched to watch MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION since it was announced and we are glad that we watched it at The CommerCenter Cinemas, Filinvest, Alabang.  I like the feel of the place and the sound system is good.  The staff's very friendly and helpful. I am not really a fan of Tom Cruise, but I am an avid fan of the Mission Impossible series and some of his other movies.  Sadly, like a lot of things I have written, my pieces are lost somewhere in cyberspace and as for those files inadvertently deleted by some people close to me, they are now lost in outer space. Even if I am not a fan of Mr. Cruise, I am very impressed with him.  At fifty-three, he is very fit, fast and you cannot discount the fact that he is very handsome and looks young for his age. He is a good actor and he definitely is Ethan Hunt. Oh yes, he is.  His team, although a few of them are left, is still very, very reliable.   Alec Baldwin is a welcome ad
