This is a poster for Till I Met You. The poster art copyright is believed to belong to the distributor of the film, GMA Films VIVA Films, the publisher of the film or the graphic artist. Directed by Mark A. Reyes Story by Annette Gozon-Abrogar Screenplay by Benedict Mique  Till I Met You(TIMY) is a movie I have seen for a total of eight times since it was shown in 2006.  I remember it well.  I watched it first on October 15.  It was one of the movies I watched with my movie buddy, RJ, who is now in heaven.  It was a Sunday then and we watched it at Festival Supermall.   It's a movie that gave me a light feeling.  It sort of reminded me of the Sheryl Cruz and Cesar Montano starrer called GANITO BA ANG UMIBIG?(1990), but the story is totally different.   Why did it remind me of it?  Well, I can't totally figure it out, but I guess I know why. ;-) TIMY is very amusing and endearing.  It also had so many ex...

Unexpectedly Yours (2017)

Source Two former high school friends renew their relationship when they make the happy discovery that they are now neighbors .-WWW Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina Written by Vanessa R. Valdez and Kiko Abrillo (story) Anna Karenina Ramos  and Janica May Regalo (screenplay) Edited by Marya Ignacio There is no such thing as a perfect person.  There is nothing wrong if we just want to be the best version of our real self, but if we try too hard to be perfect just to please those we want to please, then we would never be happy. The first person, besides God that is, we should love is our very selves.  We cannot give what we do not have.  If we do not love ourselves, then we couldn't love others. The words above is the message this movie wants to remind us of.  Patty(Sharon Cuneta) did not know how to love herself so she was never truly happy, until Cocoy(Robin Padilla) came back into her life after thirty-five years.  The young one...

The Things I watch on the telly nowadays(or via I Want TV or the GMA 7 Youtube Channel)

Disclaimer: I am NOT a couch potato.  Now that I am better, I do go out once in a while and besides, it's bad for the eyes---the whole body for that matter---if I transfix myself to the telly/television or my laptop even if it claims it has a retina display. SANA DALAWA ANG PUSO (From Fashion Pulis ) #SanaDalawaAngPuso #SDAP Just the stars and their co-stars alone are enough for me to take interest in a Princess and The Pauper type of show, but from day one it was already very interesting. It is implied that they are twins or could be twins because Lisa's mother left them and Mona's mother left a family heirloom for Mona(and what are the odds that they are named Mona and Lisa, huh?). There are times when Lisa feels whatever is happening to Mona. The two leading men are very appealing here and they act well. Bayani Agbayani is very witty and funny here. Ryan Bang is getting better and better.  Kitkat, Kiray, Alma Moreno, Boboy Garovillo, Carla Martinez,...

Bonifacio, Ang Unang Pangulo (2014-MMFF Entry)

#BonifacioAngUnangPangulo #BuhayinAngRebolusyon #MMFF2014 Andres Bonifacio: Myths, trivia, execution FULL LIST: Winners, MMFF 2014 awards night Whether this is the real story or not, this movie deserves the honor for being the BEST PICTURE.  The story is beautifully weaved and even if there are debates about the events and about the great grand father of my friends, it is very believable.   If this is going to be the only  basis of our history, I would not question it at all.  It is very, very convincing.    The script and the acting are very superb.  It is a true team effort.  The problem is, there are a lot of versions written by different historians that would disprove this, but then again, that was what the curator(Eddie Garcia) was trying to convey to the students.   Most of the history books got it wrong, according to him . I wanted to enjoy the movie so I set aside everything I learned from history.  I like h...

10,000 Hours

Image
From imdb This movie is loosely based on the life story of former Senator Ping Lacson who is now the rehabilitation czar of the places that were slaughtered by Super Typhoon Yolanda aka Haiyan. 10,000 HOURS is an action-packed thinkers movie.  When I watched this movie, I set aside the fact  that it was based on the former senator's plight and treated it as a pure work of fiction.  Still, with a few hitches, it was as real as real could be.  The scenes in Amsterdam brought me to the edge of my seat.  It was if I was a real bystander or perhaps, a stalker, watching everything while it is happening. Probably because of the familiar places, et cetera . Yes, it was not perfect, but it deserved its best picture award compared to the other movies that are playing in this year's MMFF. Robin Padilla is not just an action star, but is also a very good actor.  He is very convincing as the young looking Senator Gabriel Alcaraz whose q...
