Alone/Together (2019)

Image
From Google Images Alone Together earns P61.9 million in two days, says ABS-CBN subsidiary Written and directed by the critically acclaimed Antoinette Jadaone , Alone/Together, is a story many, if not all, can relate to.  Most of us, when we were very young and idealistic we wanted to change the world, but end up being the scum we thought we'd never be.  LIZA SOBERANO is really more than a pretty face.  She's intelligent, and a true thespian.  I love her chemistry with real life beau, ENRIQUE GIL.  Even if they are both in love with each other in real life, they made us believe they were...are...Tin and Raf.  Yes, they were Tin and Raf, who drawn to each other the instant they came across each other at our National Museum  in front of Juan Luna's Spoliarium . The two have an instant connection that if you haven't the slightest idea what this story about, you would wonder how Aly( Jasmine Curtis-Smith ) and Greg( Adrian Alandy ) became a p...

A Bride for Christmas(2012)/Just The Way You Are(2015) -updated

Image
Note:  I am updating this blog entry because I mixed up the name of the male lead with another because of the many movies I watched starring Andrew Walker and some others. After Jessie Patterson (Arielle Kebbel) calls off her third engagement - at the altar! - she swears off serious relationships until she finds “the one.” That is, until charming but chronically single Aiden MacTiernan (Andrew Walker) comes along. Unbeknownst to Jessie, Aiden has bet his friends that he can convince a woman to marry him by Christmas - which is only four weeks away - and Jessie is the target of his bet. As Aiden attempts to court Jessie by first hiring her to decorate his apartment, Jessie looks to her sister, roommate and interior design company partner, Vivian (Kimberley Sustad) as her closest confidant. To complicate matters, Jessie is doggedly pursued by her most recent ex-fiancé, Mike (Sage Brocklebank), who still wants to marry her. When Aiden finds himself falling for Jessie too, will h...

My Ex and Whys (2017) PG (on its third week and still making money)

What is it with me and South Korea?  I was just simply fascinated with "her" since my first transit there ages ago.  The first Korean thing I learned to cook was their barbecue then I learned to cook their pancakes and their Korean Beef plus so much more. I have been studying the language on and off(most especially when my almost deaf eomma/mommy/mater started to mostly depend on subtitles, she got hooked with Koreanovelas), but unlike those I have been using since I was a little girl(English, Filipino(Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon), German and Spanish), it takes long for me to study any language(I know bits and pieces of Pangasinense, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Bahasa(both Indonesian and Malaysian), Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Nihonggo, Portuguese, Dutch/Flemish etc.), but right now, I am trying to get serious with it. Hangugeo jogeum halsu isseoyo (I can speak a little Korean)but hopefully I would get better in time.  ;-) South Korea is a big part of the story. ...

She's The One 2013

#ShesTheOne Falling in love with your best friend is very ideal, but I also believe that women and men can be friends without benefits...without malice.  There's the friendship of Saints Francis and Claire of Assisi and some modern day platonic relationships that last a lifetime.  I have my own best guy friend.  Yes, I did have a crush on him two(2) decades ago, but I've been over the feeling for ages.   Even  if we rarely see each other, he's still my best guy friend in the whole wide world, but if ever I do get married, he'll be my second best guy friend...of course! Best relationships are still those that were born from friendship, but there are friendships that end when mixed with passion or strong love. When SHE'S THE ONE's first trailer was shown on the big screen, at least to my knowledge, I felt like cringing.  Another best friend falls in love with his/her best friend story.  I've enjoyed a lot of those types of movies, ...
