Christian Mingle (2014)

From Google Images

Christian Mingle is a movie starring Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Patrick Moore, and Saidah Arrika Ekulona. A marketing executive tries to find Mr. Right on a Christian dating website. When impressing her dream guy ends in disaster, Gwyneth gets in touch with her spiritual side.-imdb (Christian Mingle is a REAL Christian dating site, FYI)

Written and Directed by Corbin Bernsen.  He is also in the movie as Matt.

Starring(First names in alphabetical order): Corbin Bernsen, David Keith, Jill Saunders, John O'Hurley, Jonathan Patrick Moore, Lacey Chabert, Morgan Fairchild, Saidah Arrika Ekulona and Stephen Tobolowsky

We love the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly, but there are times people misrepresent themselves just to meet "the one" or be close to their crush or whatever.  When the motives become adulterated and based on people or a person, we would easily become burnt out.

Honestly, it happened to me several times during spiritual aridity, being burnt out, that is.  I take a breather then when I get refreshed and renewed once more, I go back into service.

How is this about me again?  Well, I am connecting this movie to my life.  I know I have been accused by someone of stealing someone's time to shine, when the truth was the strong meds that actually also make me bloated...ah never mind.  Moving on...

Lacey Chabert's 'Christian Mingle' Isn't the 'Mean Girls' Star's First Declaration of Faith

It's hard to raise your hands and hold your head up high and say you are a believer when you are not.  A half truth is always a lie, and that's what Christianity believes.  It has to be a life and death thing, but nowhere in the Bible has this been condoned.

Judge not and ye be not judged(Luke 6:37)...he who has no sin, cast the first stone(John 8:7)...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God(Romans 3:23)

THE MOVIE

A good review

The Wood family is made of staunch believers of Christ, so they would prefer a Christian than a pretender, but just thinking Gwyneth is a pretender, aren't they being judgmental? A holier than thou attitude is never OK.  Someone called my belief spiritual arrogance...there I go again---hey, this is about the movie, and not about me, OK?

Instead of helping Gwyneth find her "driftwood" moment, Paul was overpowered by his disappointment.  Gwyneth was sad, but it's a good thing that she thought it was meant to be.

It's strange watching Morgan Fairchild as a Christian, but I'm glad to see her in this movie.

While I was growing up I watched her in Falcon Crest and other unholy movies, so even if it's strange, it is also very refreshing to know that she is living her life for God.

In the movie she plays Paul Wood(Jonathan Patrick Moore)'s mother, Lacie. She favours Kel-Kel/Kelly(Jill Saunders), whom I think is very scheming, if I may say so.  So who is not being a Christian here?  She judged Gwyneth from day one. She's pretentious at that.

Instead of helping Gwyneth meet the Lord

, she became a Christian snob.

Yes, do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers(2 Corinthians 6:14), but where do you draw the line?

It is a great thing that she has a true friend in Pam (Saidah Arrika Ekulona).  She was like Gwyneth's voice of reason here.

I won't give you the whole story, but Gwyneth's discovering her "driftwood"moment was the beginning or strengthening her faith in Jesus.

What's the connection of a driftwood to Gwyneth's personal relationship with God?  Please do watch the movie to find out.

Thanks a lot for your time.

May God bless us all!

This is not another song about
All we’ve done wrong
We already know, eh
I think it’s time for us
To find the freedom and the trust
Of letting go
Let’s take some time
To thank Him for the blessings
Let’s go big tonight
With all our hearts adore Him
With joy unspeakable
Let’s get on our feet movin’ to the beat
Wave our hands high in the air
Celebrate His love, grace that is enough
Give Him all of our cares
With joy unspeakable
Joy unspeakable
Let’s raise our voices to the One because
He is worthy of
All of our praise
He’s given us a second chance
Turned our sadness into dance
We have been changed
Let’s take this time
To thank Him for the blessings
Let’s go big tonight
With all our hearts adore Him
With joy unspeakable
Let’s get on our feet movin’ to the beat
Wave our hands high in the air
Celebrate His love, grace that is enough
Give Him all of our cares
With joy unspeakable
Joy unspeakable
With joy unspeakable
Joy unspeakable
You and I were made for more
Can’t imagine what’s in store
We were meant to soar
Like an eagle
Leave religion at the door
Raise the roof and shake the floor
Let’s get loud and let’s explore, joy unspeakable
Unspeakable
Joy unspeakable
Unspeakable
Joy unspeakable
Let’s get on our feet
Movin’ to the beat
Wave our hands high in the air
Celebrate His love
Grace that is enough
Give Him all of our cares (joy unspeakable)
With joy unspeakable
Unspeakable
Joy unspeakable
Unspeakable
With joy unspeakable
Unspeakable
Joy unspeakable
With joy
Joy unspeakable
With joy
(They got somehow believe, they got to some time)
Joy unspeakable
Hey hey heyy, hey hey
Hey hey heyy
