Kano Luvs Pinay: Ang Turkey Man ay Pabo Rin (2013)

Travis Kraft and Tuesday Vargas shine in Filipino movie Ang Turkey Man ay Pabo Rin To blog or not to blog about this was the greatest debacle ever...NOT! My rule is that if I have nothing good to say or I am dumbfounded, then I won't blog about it. It just took me a while before writing about this, but I'm telling you, it's worth it.  There are lots of good things this movie has to offer.  It's more than a comedy.  It is about different cultures and what Matthew(Travis Kraft) discovered, there is unity in diversity. Cookie(Tuesday Vargas) and I belong to different social classes, but I can't say I am better than her, because I am not.  Why did it take time for me to write about this then? I wanted to think of a catchy phrase that would entice people to see it. Well, I still couldn't compose something spectacular, so what the hey? I'll just write from the heart. By the way,  it's available online  from one of Travis Kraft's ...

Star Cinema's You're My Boss(2015) PG 13

A woman who is looking for acceptance, who's looking for love, who wants to be appreciated and who wants to belong find what she's looking for from her personal assistant.- WWW Last Saturday, when everyone was lining up for Furious 7(2015)  and me and my nephew were off to watch Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water(I'm not going to write about this---I just watched this movie out of love for my nephew), nobody seemed to be lining up for this movie. When it was announced that it earned PhP25 Million in the first two days, I couldn't believe it.  I thought it was some hype or something, like when this super popular Filipino singer claimed that all seats were taken at the MGM Grand, but I saw that it was a flop, that I thought the stats were exaggerated or something. I have nothing against the actors.  I like them both, but I still thought it was a hype until I watched it myself. The story was conceptualized by Celestine "Toni" Gonzaga, and it was writt...

Imbisibol(2015)

Image
Imbisibol is directed by Lawrence Fajardo It stars: Allen Dizon, Bernardo Bernardo, Ricky Davao, Ces Quesada and JM de Guzman It is a SINAG-MAYNILA entry Highly recommended by Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino  and is adapted from the one-act play of Herlyn Gail Alegre of the same title. She, along with John Paul Bedia, wrote the screenplay As a lover of traveling, every experience is an exciting one for me.  I go to a place legally, I take pictures, some take my pictures, et cetera .  The thing is, I document almost everything, print or share almost everything, because I entered a place LEGALLY. What about those people who live their lives everyday as if it were their last? Those people who were not as fortunate as I am? Those people always hanging on a very, very thin thread...what about them?  Do we care at all?  They leave the country not for leisure, but because they have to, but by doing so, they put their lives in danger. ...

That Thing Called TADHANA (2014)

Gateway Cineplex, Araneta Center Cubao There are all kinds of LOVE in this world, but never   the same LOVE twice -    F. Scott Fitzgerald The style is quite similar, but NOT the same, mind you, to the Hawke-Delpy BEFORE trilogy .  It's mostly just the two of them(Mace and Anthony as played by Angelica and JM respectively) with some bit players.  Most of the people who watched this film with us liked it, with the exception of some seniors who exclaimed, " Mabuti na lang libre! " (It's a good thing it's free!) A couple of pairs that said the line above are church leaders, so it's easy to understand that they did not like the expletives uttered by Mace and Anthony like it was the most natural thing in the world.  My parents on the other hand, loved it(the story and execution, not the expletives).   Minus those expletives and the things Mace implied in the movie, it has a great story.   Maybe the only flaw  was when Mace asked An...
