FAMILY HISTORY (2019)

Image
( source ) Written and Directed by MICHAEL V When plans for the day did not come to fruition, dad, mom, and I decided to watch a movie instead.  We've seen most of the blockbusters, and the others were Horror Flicks(not really our cups of tea, with some exceptions, of course) so we were left with no choice  but to watch FAMILY HISTORY. Boy, were we surprised. The style and treatment were done before, but we were so impressed by the flow of the story, the acting, the injection of graphic arts, the cinematography, et cetera , most especially the direction.  The topics aren't new, and  they are all very relatable, but how the characters dealt with the different situations proves that the writer/director/producer/composer, MICHAEL V, is a genius. DAWN ZULUETA, KAKAI BAUTISTA, MIGUEL TAN FELIX, BIANCA UMALI, PAOLO CONTIS, JOHN ESTRADA, EUGENE DOMINGO, DINGDONG DANTES, MIKOY MORALES, NIKKI CO, JEMWELL VENTINILLA, VINCE GAMAD, and NONIE BUENCAMINO, played very i

Sailing Into Love (2019)

From imdb This movie, besides being a love story, is about fighting for what we believe in, especially when we know we are in the right.   For me this movie is very timely because of all the hullaballoo happening around me.   Sometimes I cringe when people congratulate me for what I "did", as if it's something great, but I did what I did, and I said what I said.  I won't take back what I said. Tom Hastings) and LEAH RENEE(Claire Richards) look visually beautiful together, but many people said they had a hard time listening to Ms. Renee because of her squeaky voice. Acting wise, they both did great.  If they are not a real life couple, they sure made me believe that they are in love, or at the very least, super attracted to each other. I like that the viewers who usually complain about Hallmark's style of "cliff

Glimpses of Grace

With Tita Lillian Mirpuri, Pastor Dick's wife My former Pastor, Richard "Dick" Mirpuri, wrote this wonderful book. Life wasn't always a bed of roses, and if it was, there were lots of thorns in it.  For a first attempt in writing a book, and according to him, it could very well be his last, he was able to share his life's journey and the lessons he has learned along the way. There are many practical, touching, and spiritual lessons, and what's nice about it, is that even if it leads the reader to humility, it also makes the reader realise the bountiful graces of God. He tackled about money as a tool for the work of God.   I remember some of the teachings in the past that it's the LOVE for money that is the root of all evil, and not money in itself. He also talked about striving true riches, after all, where your heart is, there your heart will be. We must seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, and everything else will follow...will be
