King Arthur Legend of the Sword(PG-13) 2017

Image
After the murder of his father, young Arthur's power-hungry uncle Vortigern seizes control of the crown. Robbed of his birthright, he grows up the hard way in the back alleys of the city, not knowing who he truly is. When fate leads him to pull the Excalibur sword from stone, Arthur embraces his tru e destiny to become a legendary fighter and leader.-WWW King Arthur has many version and one of my favorites is First Night.  Of course, I love its idyllic version called Camelot too and I sing its many songs, time and again.  The Knights of the Round Table is ideal.  Even if Arthur is a King, he listens to the opinions of his knights and they have equal rights. I watched this without reading the reviews first, and even with all the barbaric things and Arthur being a smart ass, I liked it.  I was disheartened to find out that a lot of people don't share my opinion. They call it a stinker. Why did I like it?  It's because mages did exist or probably they s...

( source ) Jessica Chastain(Lady Lucille Sharpe), Tom Hiddleston(Sir Thomas Sharpe, Baronet), Mia Wasikowska(Miss Edith Cushing) and Charlie Hunnam(Dr. Alan McMichael, Opthalmologist) From The Hollywood Reporter Directed by:  Guillermo del Toro Written by:  Guillermo del Toro  and  Matthew Robbins The weather was gloomy because Typhoon Koppu known locally as Lando was raging mad and one of the transformers in our village short circuited or something.  I don't exactly know what happened, but there was a power outage in our area.  We waited for my brother's family to arrive then the three of us, my folks and I, went to the CommerCenter at Filinvest City in Alabang to see what was playing.  Crimson Peak was one of them.  Dad and I heard the review from CNN earlier so we chose it.  We were the first three to buy tickets for our time slot and there were about nine others who watched it with us. The others wanted it to be sc...

http://cinemaxasia.com/Cinemax/en-ph/shows/deadfall-2012-1014884/ From imdb :A thriller that follows two siblings who decide to fend for themselves in the wake of a botched casino heist, and their unlikely reunion during another family's Thanksgiving celebration. Director:   Stefan Ruzowitzky Writer:   Zach Dean Even the most thwarted soul has an iota of goodness in them.  Yes, I truly believe that.  Addison(Bana) is a very caring brother and no matter how twisted his ideals are, he, in his own way, protects children. When he and Liza(Wilde) were little he protected Liza and that's the very reason why she looked up to him. This movie is about families and relationships: 1)A loving family with a slight problem, but nothing they cannot handle together; 2)A family with an abusive step father; 3)A love hate relationship between a father and a daughter in the same line of business; 4)And good sibling relationship that went wrong along ...

Pacific Rim(2013), a movie I never really expected to like

Image
Being the only girl in the family, although I had lots and lots of dolls and other feminine playthings, I was exposed to Lego sets, match boxes, toy guns, Justice League (DC) and Marvel comics, and robots.  I was addicted to watching Voltes V , Mazinger Z , Daimos etc. while collecting their action figures/robots. All of them were donated to less fortunate children and though I gave them away wholeheartedly, sometimes I wonder how it would feel like if I still have them. When the trailers of PACIFIC RIM were shown, you would think I would jump for joy, but I did not.  In my mind this was only going to be a TRANSFORMERS or KING KONG versus GODZILLA wannabe. Boy, was I wrong! (more below) Written(along with the author, TRAVIS BEACHAM) and Directed by GUILLERMO DEL TORO Pacific Rim is a surprisingly endearing story, which is action packed, funny, with a little drama and a lot of sense.  True, the scenes were literally dark, but if it weren't, ...
