My Favourite Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski movies

Image
My favourite Mikee Conjuangco Films(The first and the last listed are the best of the best...at least for me): From Wikipedia ©Viva Films DO RE MI (1996) Source NAG-IISANG IKAW (1997) source MANALO MATALO, MAHAL KITA (1995) Source DAHIL BA SA KANYA (1998) and From imdb FOREVER (1994) This blog entry started with writing about my watching NANG DAHIL BA SA KANYA? for the nth time, but for some reason the other movies of hers kept popping in my head so I decided to write about my favourite movies of hers instead. When Mikee was much younger I thought she would end up with Direk Rowell Santiago, but I was wrong.  She and Dudut Jaworkski grew in love with each other and are now happily married, with kids. Mikee is such a refreshing and inspiring person(I think I just described someone like this very recently and I wasn't pulling her leg).  She also is a good actor/actress. The first movie I've seen of hers is FOREVER and she ...

The Gifted (2014)

Image
THE GIFTED is a riotous comedy by award-winning writer-director, Chris Martinez (”Kimmy Dora,” “Here Comes the Bride,” “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank), starring Anne Curtis, Cristine Reyes and Sam Milby. This is Anne and Cristine’s reunion movie after co-starring in the blockbuster “No Other Woman,” which remains the highest-grossing Filipino dramatic movie in history. This time they trade comedic barbs and engage in explosive physical warfare as frenemies from grade school to adulthood, fighting over the number 1 spot in school… and the guy they both like. Plot: "The Gifted" is about two girls who are gifted with extremely high IQ, the fat kid, Zoe Tuazon (Anne Curtis) and the nerd, Aica Tabayoyong (Cristine Reyes). They are the best of friends until campus heartthrob, Mark Ferrer (Sam Milby) comes in between them! Soon enough, Zoe and Aica have parted ways. Years later, they met again - not the same fat kid and nerdy nerd they used to be, but stunningly gorgeous an...

TALK BACK AND YOU'RE DEAD (2014) #TBYD

Image
Alabang Town Center Cinema 4 Facebook Page Talk Back And You're Dead is the first installment of the Talk Back Trilogy of  Alesana Marie  originally published in WATTPAD, but can now be bought at any of the National Bookstore or Power Books Branches Nationwide.  It revolves around childhood sweethearts Timmy and Sammy, their friends, family and other people close to them. Although it is also a movie about school gangsters, it is very, very different from SHE'S DATING A GANGSTER .  For me, this story is very reminiscent of the kind of movies Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion did during their teenage years, most especially the ones produced by Viva Films, but different. The helicopters, the large estates, rich feuding families, fixed marriages, etc.   The movie version is written by Keiko Aquino and directed by Andoy Ranay ( Trophy Wife ).  I think I am getting fond of this team.  People still found flaws, but hey.  ...

Diary ng Panget (Movie, PG) 2014 #DNP

https://www.facebook.com/DiaryNgPangetMovie2014 THE TRAILER We did not have plans of watching this film.  Yes, we weren't looking forward to it.  We did not even know that versatile performers like Candy Pangilian, Mitch Valdez and Gabby Concepcion were included in the supporting cast.  It just so happened that my parents are senior citizens of the City of Parañaque and were a little bored yesterday afternoon.  It was a Tuesday and they could avail of any of the "free for seniors" movie in any SM Cinema in the  City of Parañaque (Bicutan, Sucat and SM City BF  Parañaque). They've seen everything so they were forced to watch DIARY NG PANGET.  I, of course, did not mind. While the credits were shown, I saw the names of aforementioned actors, Andoy Ranay(a very respectable director) and Tara Illenberger(someone I admire greatly for her work).   "Dada, respectable people are behind this film. Don't worry. Who knows? You mi...

MomZillas (not a review) 2013

Image
Some tips before watching the movie(or before playing the LEGAL DVD in the future): Remember, this is a Comedy Full Length Film Feature.  While watching, please don't over analyze any situation. Sit back, relax, enjoy the movie, have a barrel of laughter(most of the time).  MomZillas is a very enjoyable movie.  The wit and humor of two award winning versatile actors along with the rest who supported them was definitely worth watching. Eugene Domingo is one of my favorites(she's so versatile, intelligent and wise) and I practically "grew up" with the Diamond Star(I've been watching her since she was six...well, I watched reruns cause although I was already alive when she was six, I don't think I would've appreciated her acting because everything would be a blur and so I guess it's safe to say that I've been following her career since she was ten) so I happily awaited for this film to be shown in the cinemas.  I must say, it was w...

Image
And I Love You So is a 2009 Philippine romantic fantasy drama film produced by Star Cinema, starring Bea Alonzo, Sam Milby and Derek Ramsay. This film reunites Alonzo and Milby; the previous being Close to You (2006). The film is directed by Laurenti Dyogi, and celebrates the 16th year of Star Cinema films. The film describes the feeling of forbidden love for another person when that love may not be forbidden at all.- Wikipedia   A Story about LOVE, LOSS, and LETTING GO.   I recommend this movie to people who could not accept the loss of their loved ones; to persons who cannot let go of the ones they love; to people who are unhealthily attached to people and things that remind them of those people; to people who need to move on, but can't; to EVERYONE. (source) It was a dream come true. LOL  Sam Milby was calling MY name.  He was shouting it while chasing...well, not me, but Bea Alonzo's character, Lara Cruz.  It was music to my ...
