This is a movie that is worth every centavo(or penny, whatever the case may be).  True, it could have been shorter, but hey, if you're a Christopher Nolan fan like me(I have written about his past movies, but somehow, I was not able to save them when Multiply.com went pfft...I thought I did, but I'm sadly mistaken...now I'd rather stay in awe...I hope one day I could write about them), you wouldn't mind the length. You would sit back, relax, then would try to analyze the scenes, then sit back, relax, then try to analyze the scenes. ;-)  I love movies that make you think, but also gives you moments joy and satisfaction. For some weird reason, I was not able to see a trailer of this film until I already saw it.  At first I thought Mackenzie Foy was going to morph  into Anne Hathaway, but as it turns out, she grew up to be Jessica Chastain.  I was also surprised to see that this movie has a power house (Or may I say, stellar?) cast besides Anne Hathaway ...

I have been wanting to see this since this was initially released because it has a powerhouse cast and according to press releases, this movie was based on first-hand accounts.  That meant that there was little room for fiction.  Of course, some of the names had to be fictionalized and for cinematic effect, some scenes were exaggerated a bit. For people who still live as slaves even if freedom was granted ages ago, this is for you.  This is also for those who need to be taught a lesson or two and for everybody else. Emma Stone is an actor that never ceases to amaze me.  Although she is only 25 years old, she has already wowed critics, most especially in EASY A.  I am mentioning her first because in this movie she plays Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, a writer who gave a voice  to those people who were still being maltreated even if they were already given liberty. Next, I want to mention Viola Davis .  She IS Aibileen Carter and her acting made me love the character she portrayed so well.  Through her, I was able to journey with Aibileen.  I felt her agony, her pain, her courage and strength.
