( source ) ( source ) Was it because of the "suicide" theme?  Is that the reason why they rated it R-13?  Maleficent is more traumatic than this movie and there are many animated films that gave children and adults alike sleepless nights, so I don't get it.  Why give this that kind of rating?  The movie is actually refreshing.  It could have "landed" sooner than later, but notwithstanding the prolonged scenes, the movie gives a light giddy feeling inside. I was warned that it had a "twist", but it was not what I expected the twist would be.  It wasn't the first time that one of the characters was like "that", but it was a bit different.  Bela is indeed a raconteur extraordinaire , and I would surely watch her other screenplays in the future, with or without her. Here he plays Raffy Sandoval, a Public Relations specialist/expert who chances upon Aprilyn Esguerra(Sarah Geronimo) when she was having one of her episodes after being jilted by her "future husband" on their supposedly wedding day.  It was by the fountain at Serendra. The story has light and funny moments, and maybe that's why the film ratings board rated this G, but there are topics not for kids like threats made by Mayor Garcia(no relation to us) played by Dennis Padilla. What is it with me and South Korea?  I was just simply fascinated with "her" since my first transit there ages ago.  The first Korean thing I learned to cook was their barbecue then I learned to cook their pancakes and their Korean Beef plus so much more. I have been studying the language on and off(most especially when my almost deaf eomma/mommy/mater started to mostly depend on subtitles, she got hooked with Koreanovelas), but unlike those I have been using since I was a little girl(English, Filipino(Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon), German and Spanish), it takes long for me to study any language(I know bits and pieces of Pangasinense, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Bahasa(both Indonesian and Malaysian), Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Nihonggo, Portuguese, Dutch/Flemish etc.), but right now, I am trying to get serious with it. Hangugeo jogeum halsu isseoyo (I can speak a little Korean)but hopefully I would get better in time.  ;-) South Korea is a big part of the story. ...

I was intending to watch this with Joy, but I was still on the road around the time she said she was going to watch this, then we became so busy and when we had time to watch movies, dad wanted to prioritise his provincial hero, Hermano Puli and the update of The Magnificent Seven.
