#JLS #FFS #ChosBride #PanisGroom #DearFutureHusband #ASHLLOYD #TheodoreBoborol #GillianEbreo #CarmiRaymundo #SMBF A lot of people wonder what we see in John Lloyd Cruz.  They claim he's not even that handsome and he is overrated.  I beg to differ.  This young man is very charismatic and he acts well.  His eyes are very expressive and he is a natural.  Advertisers think he is bankable and so do production outfits, et cetera . Here he plays Raffy Sandoval, a Public Relations specialist/expert who chances upon Aprilyn Esguerra(Sarah Geronimo) when she was having one of her episodes after being jilted by her "future husband" on their supposedly wedding day.  It was by the fountain at Serendra. The story has light and funny moments, and maybe that's why the film ratings board rated this G, but there are topics not for kids like threats made by Mayor Garcia(no relation to us) played by Dennis Padilla. Sarah G has improved her craft(I've se

What more for our present day survivors and "witnesses" seeing LIVE or at the moment blow-by-blow accounts of what was happening.  Having to witness such atrocities could put witness/wi

Kita Kita (2017) PG (a.k.a. I SEE YOU)

I couldn't help it.  We couldn't help it.  We clapped as loud as we could when the movie ended. As the trailer suggested, the ending was bittersweet, but there's more to it than meets  the eye . SCROLL FURTHER DOWN FOR THE BLOG ENTRY ABOUT THE MOVIE In Japan, kita means North and for them, North is Hokkaido. Sigrid Bernardo, the director of the movie, said she never thought about it.  It's just a coincidence.  What a happy coincidence.  What a pleasant surprise.  Serendipity! 🍱🍌💜 Sapporo, capital of the mountainous northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, is famous for its beer, skiing and annual Sapporo Snow Festival featuring enormous ice sculptures. The Sapporo Beer Museum traces the city’s brewing history and has tastings and a beer garden. Ski hills and jumps from the 1972 Winter Olympics are scattered within the city limits, and Niseko, a renowned ski resort, is nearby. Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets (2017)

Image
Just my two cents worth.  This movie should have been entitled LAURELINE AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS.   Cara Delevingne captivated the different sets of audiences and her(Laureline) personality was(is) more likeable than of Dane DeHaan's depiction of Valerian.  He(Dane DeHaan) is not bad to look at, but the way he was described here was as if he was the handsomest creature in Alpha, the city of a thousand planets. Besides, I couldn't brush the image of Harry Osborn off in my head as the Green Goblin(that really looks like a goblin in prosthetics). He did fine, but I could imagine other actors for the role.  Thank goodness he has youthful physiognomy.    If there's another person or different specie that wowed everyone, it's got to be Rihanna. She's very, very graceful and she did a great job depicting Bubble. Clive Owen was not an effective villain here.  I know he has played some anti-hero and villains convincingly, but here...he's still a

Dunkirk (2017) 14 and up

Image
In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of th is heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated. -WWW Note: All images below are from the World Wide Web We watched this in 2D and it seem real.  I could imagine that it would be more real if you watch this in IMAX or 4DX. Christopher Nolan made us all experience the terrors of war in Dunkirk.  It was real as real could be, so if your heart is faint, don't attempt to watch it for you would feel like drowning when they are drowning and you would get a glimpse of hell too. This is one of Nolan's best works ever.   The actors have expressive eyes.  The explosions are like real explosions.   Everything seem real, but the the

War For The Planet Of The Apes: exploring  its ending, and what might happen next (with major, major spoilers) I chose this poster because this has Caesar(Andy Serkis) and Nova(Amiah Miller) Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brin gs them face to face, Caesar and the colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both of their species and the future of the planet.
