‘The Significant Other’ review: Hilariously awful   (Rappler Article by Oggs Cruz) Maybe I agree with the above article around 90%, but since I am writing about this, maybe I found something good about this story, so let's just talk about that.  After all, I am NOT a critic, just an observer. Lovi Poe, Erich Gonzales, Snooky Serna, Alora Sasam, Matet De Leon, Bernardo Bernardo, Ricci Chan and Dina Bonnevie did quite well, but what about Tom?  Well, he's a good and handsome actor, but his character was quite loathsome.  Gagawa na nga lang ng kalokohan, di pa ni-lock ang pinto. The long-awaited film has finally arrived  and what made me interested in this film is the fact that even if Adrianne is  the other woman , she was not the cause of the rocky marriage between Vincent and Trish. Addie is a very intelligent, but scarred woman.  She underwent a lot of pain and trouble that she never imagined herself being in a situation  she hated  so much.  Everything she wanted to tell her dad's mistress and her fiancé's lover were uttered   to her by her lover's wife, but what touched  her soul was when the eldest and only girl talked to her, and she saw herself in her shoes.    Yes, you may say that this is an immoral movie, but this is also very touching indeed.  I cried, I laughed, I felt joy and peace, most especially towards the end of the film. Why did I cry?  There were a lot of moving scenes, most especially in the hospital.  I remembered my brothers and a whole lot more. Last nig...

When I first saw the trailer above, I told myself I would definitely watch this.  I thought to myself, I needed a good laugh...something to take the blues away.  What I didn't realize was that this was more than a comedy.  It's a movie with direct and hidden messages...a movie that hits several soft spots...a movie that a lot of people, if not all, could relate to. It's the first time, I think, that I've encountered Antoinette Jadaone, and I must say that she's a very good raconteur and director.  I haven't checked who the casting director is, but I must say that he or she chose the actors well.  From the bit players, to the sorta kinda villains, to the best friends, to the in-laws(future in-laws), families to the main characters, the characters were tailor-made for them.   It was great to see familiar faces that I didn't expect to see.
