FROM IMDB Directed by  Noel Black Writing Credits   Rod Browning According to Tami Maida when she was interviewed by one of the correspondents of a certain magazine that this movie is based on her life, but certain scenes were added for "drama" or cinematic excitement.  HELEN HUNT who plays her gave her a different persona.  She said she was more conservative than the way Ms. Hunt acted, but Ms. Hunt did spend time with her.  Maybe that was how Ms. Hunt saw her. Well, I don't know. The name of the school was changed and so was the team. Some characters, like the role of DAPHNE ZUNIGA, were combinations of different characters, but mom was mom, and dad was dad.
