Watching an old DVD: Eternity (2006)

Google images The theme song Story by Mark Reyes Directed by Mark A. Reyes D.G.P.I. Screenplay by Gina Marissa Tagasa-Gil A few days ago I reposted an old thing I have written about Moments of Love .  There was something about the year Moments of Love was shown. I pondered and pondered then I checked the movies I have seen that year. I wasn't able to check everything.  I did not need to for I saw it almost immediately: ETERNITY.  This was shown months after Moments of Love. Both movies tackled about the past and the present, but Eternity is about reincarnation and Moments of Love isn't. The movie showed the present and the past intermittently.  There were moments when I thought it was like DEAD AGAIN . Nora Roberts' MIDNIGHT BAYOU  was shown three years later, so I couldn't have compared this with that movie when I watched it the first time. Anyways, if you have not seen Eternity, then I wouldn't say if I was right in comparing ...

Just the 3 of Us (R-13) 2016

Image
note: I was able to watch great movies before this one, but for one reason or another I wasn't able to blog about them. Director: Cathy Garcia-Molina An unlikely love story between polar opposites Uno(JOHN LLOYD CRUZ) and CJ(JENNYLYN MERCADO), two strangers, and how one night changes their lives forever. Unforeseen circumstances collide and force Uno and CJ to live under the same roof as they both deal with their sense of responsibility and their yearning for security. Uno is motivated by his sense of family while CJ is governed by an unconditional love that should put her first above everything else. The unlikely thing that binds Uno and CJ together paves the way for them to find in each other the kind of love they never thought they needed. ( source ) Just the 3 of Us is a feel good romantic comedy.  Heartstrings were pulled towards the middle of the film, but it was balanced with lots of laughs, love of family, great friends, etc. The very cute neighbour, H...

#WalangForever (2015)

From: One Minute Movie Review: ‘#WalangForever’   Everybody has a story.  Even the most monstrous person in the world has at least one person who loves him or her.  We are all unique, but we all have similarities too.  Since we have cable/satellite feeds nowadays you would find out that people do undergo the same thing, one way or another. Mia and Ethan's story is not exactly new, but the way it was(is) told, acted and executed is(was/are/were) very beautiful and almost seamless, if not seamless.  I have described other stories as such too. I share Mia and Ethan's joys and pains.  I admire their friends and family.  Their friends and family truly care for them.  I also related to most parts of this story. Like one critic, I thought of comparing this movie to a Nicholas Sparks story, but like that same person, I agree, it's not.  The story was weaved well and became a beautiful comforter or duvet in the end. My dad's reaction w...

Everything went sour when they went home.  Things became stereotypical. Fight a prenup with more clauses? What? I know I don't have any right to criticize this movie, after all, I'm just an observer, but as an observer,  I think I could share my opinions.  Am I right? As a whole, I like it.  What's not to like? My crush(OK, one of my crushes), Sam Milby is the leading man.  I like Jennylyn Mercado.   I like all the cast members.  I gre...

English Only, Please (2014) Jennylyn Mercado and Derek Ramsay #MMFF2014

Facebook Rappler Review by Zig Marasigan The trailer above made me joyfully wait for this movie to be shown in the cinemas.  Yes, yes, there was a more important event coming and I haven't forgotten who the real reason for the season is, but it made me list this as the first movie to watch on Christmas Day. Let me tell you a secret .  I was only intending to watch four movies anyway and the other three are:  BONIFACIO, KUBOT and MY BIG BOSSING. This morning we were pretty excited to go to Alabang Town Center.  We were given movies passes yesterday and even if we knew that we weren't going to be able to use them(the expiration date was on the 31st and it was the #MMFF2014, so the odds were obviously against us), we were still psyched to see this film. After watching the movie I was able to read the wonderful review of Zig Marasigan .  Even if I don't entirely agree with what he has written, I agree with almost everything he ...
