The Secret Life of Walter Mitty 2013

Source The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a philosophical movie presented as a romantic-comedy film feature.  It has some action-packed scenes and some memorable lines.  It is also a film where adventurous people that love to travel can relate to. I hope my friends who are in similar situation  like Cheryl could find someone like Walter.   Source In more ways than one, I can relate to Walter Mitty. There are moments of blah when my mind wanders and dream of what could be in the most creative way I could think of. Yet, as the tagline of this movie says: STOP DREAMING. START LIVING. Source I'll never forget the little boy(or about him) who was sitting behind me when I was watching this movie.  He was about four or five years old, yet he was asking intellectual questions.  Normally, if someone's talking behind you, you could get irritated.  His case was different.  It was cute and very admirable.   "FOREVER may not be PERFECT but it is POSSIBLE!"-Taken from their FB page  Unrated, 1 hr. 36 min. Romance ,  Comedy ,  Special Interest Directed By: Mae Czarina Cruz Written By:     Carmi Raymundo and Charlene Grace Bernardo In Theaters: Jan 15, 2014 Whew. Finally, I'm going to write about this movie. Why did take me so long to write about this when I've even watched it two times because I enjoyed it too much?  My, oh my. I don't know why. Sigh. Perhaps it's because somehow it has hit a soft spot. Sigh. I think I'm more of Rocco than Rocky, but I also see a little bit of Rocky in me. Kim Chiu is very admirable here.  Yes, there was a screenplay, but there were scenes(directions) that gave her freedom to say anything she wanted.  Her role as Raquelita De La Cruz a.k.a. Rocky is someone most of our kababayans  can relate to.  She is hardworking, but even in dire need, she believes that someone who could hit

Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit

I love Tom Clancy .  No, we did not have any romantic relationship, but I loved reading his books.  I have tons and tons of literature written by him and some of them with his collaborators.  I haven't had the chance to read e-book versions of his books, but I own hardbound copies and paperback copies.  There was a time that his books were my companions almost everyday of my life and my favorite character that he created IS Jack Ryan . Jack Ryan is like a good online friend.  We've never met each other face to face, but I know a lot about him. I also care for his family and his organization. Sigh.   When I learned from the grapevine that Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit was going to be shown on the big screen, I was pretty excited about it.  OK, Tom Clancy is probably in writers' heaven, if there's such a place, so I was glad that one of his children  will be immortalized and/or rebooted. I was not so disappointed compared to other Jack Ryan/Tom

Lone Survivor (R13)

“I will never quit. My nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If knocked down i will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my enemies and to accomplish our mission. I am never out of the fight.”  ―  Marcus Luttrell ,  Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 Not everyone in Afghanistan is an enemy. This is what I was reminded of while watching this film.  I watched this film without reading the book, seeing the trailer or reading reviews.  As a matter of fact, we were not even planning to watch this movie that Monday afternoon.  We were just supposed to go shopping for small tokens for our relatives that we were going to meet the following evening. After a hearty lunch at My Little Buttercup, I went upstairs to see if there was something worthwhile to watch. Since dad had a meeting later that afternoon, I chose LONE SURVIVOR because o
