Image
The One I Wrote For You is an inspirational, family-oriented feature film set to release in 2014. The movie tells the heartwarming story of Ben Cantor, a talented, 30-something songwriter and musician who gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to finally hit it big when his precocious ten-year old daughter secretly enters him into a Reality TV show songwriting contest. Though burned by a record deal years ago, past his "prime" to make it as a pop star and concerned they'll change who he is, Cantor enters the contest after being encouraged by his wife, Alicia, and former manager, Mickey. Once Upon A Prince (2018)

Image
Director: Alex Wright (as Alexander J.F. Wright) Writers: Rachel Hauck (novel), Tracy Andreen For many people who have read the book,  they didn't appreciate the character of the prince turned king, but I do.  Why?  I've seen a lot of movies worldwide where the kings were like puppets...like they were just rulers on paper. When I was growing up, mythology and fairytale kings were like gods here on earth.  They proclaimed edicts/decrees or anything to that effect, and people would follow them to the letter. Ang utos ng hari ay di mababali at walang makakatutol sa gagawin niya. ( The Command of the King is irrevocable, and no one can complain about anything or question what he does or would do. ) Why would a Prime Minister or the Board of Regents or whatever control a King of LEGAL age?  If the Crown Prince becomes King at a very young age, then there's an assigned regent, usually his mother, but here in this movie, the King is not a little boy.  I'm glad th

Debbie Macomber's Trading Christmas (2011)

Image
Director: Michael Scott (as Michael M. Scott) Writers: Debbie Macomber (novel), Bruce Graham (teleplay) The Christmas season is approaching. In South Woodbourne, Washington, widowed second grade schoolteacher Emily Spengler loves the Christmas holidays, as do all the townsfolk, and the traditions she had built with her now deceased husband, Frank, who passed away almost three years ago, and her now grown daughter, Heather. As usual, she is expecting Heather to come home for the holidays from Boston, where she is going to school. In Boston, Massachusetts, novelist and English professor Charles Johnson is an unsentimental man, who, like his workaholic brother Ray, owner of his own lucrative business, doesn't celebrate the season. Emily and Charles meet on a house swapping website as they decide to do a one week swap with each other in the lead up to Christmas. Emily wants to go to Boston to be with Heather, who has told her that she isn't planning on coming home for

Love, Once and Always (2018)

Image
Directed by  Allan Harmon Writing Credits  (in alphabetical order)   Susan Batten Gregg Rossen Brian Sawyer Sydney Sidner Amanda Schull and Peter Porte are so good to look at.  They are both good actors, and great dancers, so I was kind of expecting some sort of dance number, so... Anyways, I really enjoyed this movie.  How do I say this without sounding like a broken record?  This is the kind of movie when predictability is very much welcome, at least for me. Some viewers say there is no spark/chemistry or whatever else, but that's not what I see or feel. Maybe they are right.  They did not get the accent right, but all in all, at least for me, it's quite an enjoyable film. Well, it's not the best movie in the world, but it serves its purpose. I guess that's it.

Another Buffy and Clark movie: Winter's Dream (2018)

Image
Directed by David Winning Writing Credits  Tim Ware ,  Gregg Rossen , and  Brian Sawyer (teleplay) Tim Ware and Kristin Booth (story) Heather Gittens ... (script coordinator) KRISTY SWANSON and DEAN CAIN have great chemistry, and this is not the first time they were teamed up( A Belle For Christmas / Operation Cupcake / Merry Ex-Mas ).  Both of them look younger than the last time they were together, and Kristy Swanson is extra beautiful here.  Dean Cain is still dashingly handsome.  Both are great to look at, and that fact alone is good enough for me, but the story is icing to the already very delicious ice cream cake. Needless to say there are many predictable parts, but there were more surprises than the predictability.  At least, that's my opinion. The beautiful LUCIE GUEST is the rival skier/coach, but she's not really the antagonist. LIZZIE BOYS is the protégée skier and Ty(Dean Cain)'s daughter. She also plays her part convincingly well, e

Falling for Vermont(2017)

When a best-selling author decides to escape the media frenzy, her plan goes awry when a she’s caught in a thunderstorm and crashes her car. Found wandering with no memory and no ID, the town doctor (and a single dad) offers up his guest house until her memory returns. But as she blends seamlessly into their family life, she must decide if the life she's been living is the life she wants. Stars  Julie Gonzalo  and  Benjamin Ayres . This made for TV movie is practically the "twin" or "mirror" show of A Christmas to Remember starring Cameron Mathison and Mira Sorvino, but with some differences, of course. At least in the Christmas movie someone sort of recognised Maggie or Jennifer Wade(Ms. Sorvino's role).  The Hopedale people seem to be from another planet.  Is there really a Hopedale, Vermont?  There's one in Massachusetts.  Anyways, fictitious or not, I can't believe that Emily wouldn't know about her favourite author.  Yes, there'

J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)

Image
From Google Images Director: David Yates Writers: J.K. Rowling (screenplay), J.K. Rowling (based upon characters created by) Source This is definitely darker than the first of the trilogy, and I read somewhere that the script was top secret, so there were elements exclusive to the movie version alone. Who is Credence Barebone?  Who is he really?  Why do they want him killed?  Why does Gellert Grindelwald want him to be his ally? The special effects were very believable, and when the "ending" finally came for this middle of the trilogy, all I could say was, "Oh, so that's why."   The cast: EDDIE REDMAYNE as Newt Scamander & EZRA MILLER as Credence Barebone(both men are in character all throughout the film...bravo!) ZOË KRAVITZ as Leta Lestrange - Miss Kravitz is physically more beautiful in this film than in any of her other roles.  She also was able to channel Ms. Lestrange, ergo, she was convincing. CLAUDIA KIM as Nagini -Ms. Kim

One Winter Weekend (2018)

Image
Director: Gary Yates Writer: Erinne Dobson If TAYLOR COLE was as pretty as she is in this movie in MY SUMMER PRINCE , (maybe) then that movie would've been more spectacular, and more believable.  She is again here acting opposite JACK TURNER, but this time, she is lovelier, and she looks younger. Jack is a dreamboat, but as their characters, the two of them together having a whirlwind romance, is not so believable.  Why?  Even if Ms. Taylor is very beautiful here, her eyes are not sparkling whenever Mr. Turner is around, like how she was when they were paired in that royal falls for a commoner movie.  At least here they are more comfortable around each other compared to that said movie. Nevertheless, I still finished the movie, even if I wanted to kick Diane(KRISTEN HARRIS), the boss of both Cara(Taylor's role) and Megan(RUKIYA BERNARD), Cara's best friend. Megan's love interest is played by DEWSHANE WILLIAMS, a surgeon named Sean, the best fri

Let me try... Maybe I should just talk about what we felt when they were in Iceland.  The movie made us want to pack our bags and go to Iceland ASAP, but of course, there are lots of things to consider. Not knowing the whole picture, we felt for Ben(PAOLO CONTIS) because Jen(ALESSANDRA DE ROSSI) was being so annoyingly bratty.   Later, we would learn the truth, and

Starring  Kellie Pickler  and  Wes Brown . - The Hallmark Channel Another formulaic movie that I liked in the end because  I especially loved the virtual tour of the city, and the article below formed into words my thoughts. I also learned a thing or two, like it was filmed in the summer, et cetera . At world premiere of Hallmark's ‘Christmas at Graceland,’ Memphis is the star That's it.  If I say anything more then... :-)

Hearts of Christmas (2016) TV Movie by Hallmark

Written by J.B. But the plan is complicated by the hospital’s new CFO who’s been tasked to cut costs. Stars  Emilie Ullerup  and  Kristoffer Polaha. - The Hallmark Channel This movie may not be perfect and does not have big stars in it, but it does leave a mark in one's heart.    SHARON LAWRENCE is probably one of the few familiar to me along with KIMBERLEY SUSTAD, RACHEL HAYWARD,and BRUCE DAWSON, but I think it's the first time for me to meet  the lead stars (I have yet to find out if I'm wrong about this) . Maybe.  Maybe not.  I checked their filmography, and I'm guessing I've seen them, but didn't know who they were...Oh, and the dog.  Well, he's famous.   Or should I say "she" because Mr. D
