Garage Sale Mystery: The Wedding Dress (2015)

Image
OK, it's no Agatha Christie Whodunnit...it's not even Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes...for Pete's sake, it's not Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason, and Betcha By Golly, Wow, it's not a Carol Keene's Nancy Drew mystery or anything similar to that, but I like it.  I think THE WEDDING DRESS is my favourite so far. #SpoilerAlert I know, I know, the other viewers were wondering if the Lady Justice had thicker blindfolds or something.  Just because she's a pillar of society she could get away with murder...well, the justification was, she was trying to save a life and... They should've at least made it a homicide.  Instead, they made it appear that there was no crime committed.  There were many crimes committed besides homicide, but... OK, let's not go there. What made me say that's this is my favourite episode so far?  Well, compared to the other Garage Sale Mystery episodes, so far, this is the best for me.

Nearlyweds the movie(2013) and Nearlyweds by Beth Kendrick

Image
Source The Dog's name in the book is CASH ;-) THE MOVIE Directed by Mark Griffiths Written for the screen by Aury Wallington Adapted from Beth Kendrick's novel of the same title The movie has a different approach and there are characters in the book that aren't in the movie(like the stepchildren of Stella) and situations (Mark had a vasectomy in the book and he's the one who gave Stella the cute little dog in lieu of a baby---major difference---in the movie, it's Stella who doesn't want a baby and Mark is the one who wants her to have one...and he hates dogs), et cetera, et cetera ,  but I love them both. These are my thoughts:  The book has a great style and you would want to finish it in one sitting.  Yes, that's how much a great story it is.  It is narrated through different points of views, and of course, if you enjoyed it, you would tend to visualise everything on how each character would look like, their triumphs, their tears, a

All Things Valentine(2016)

Image
Avery(SARAH RAFFERTY), a blogger with a string of disappointing Valentine's Days, is ready to give up on love when she meets handsome veterinarian Brendan(SAM PAGE). When Avery finds out Brendan blames his recent break up on her blog and is the one leaving her angry comments, she begins to question whether the bond they've began to build is a true love story or yesterday's news. Written by Hallmark ALL THINGS VALENTINE Directed by GARY HARVEY Written by J. B. White What do I love about this movie?  Besides the two lead characters who are VERY believable, I like that it is not very mushy. The issues here are very real, and besides the last boyfriend of Avery who cheated on her the past year with an older woman, there's no real antagonist.   KIMBERLEY SUSTAD brought to life McKenna, and through her I saw that McKenna is not a person to be hated.  She's a good friend to Prue(HILARY JARDINE), a person who is so afraid to give her heart away, espec

EXes Baggage (2018)

Image
An official theatrical movie poster for the 2018 Philippine rom-com film entitled "Exes Baggage" under Black Sheep Productions and distributed by  Star Cinema If there's one thing I really liked about this movie, I liked and still like the theme song called MAYBE THE NIGHT.  I love this version(ORIGINAL) by Ben&Ben, but I also liked how Carlo Aquino sang it to Angelica...rather, I liked how Nix sang it to Pia. DIRECTED BY DAN VILLEGAS WRITTEN BY DWEIN BALTAZAR I'm a CarGel fan.  Yes, I truly am.  I love ANGELICA PANGANIBAN because she's very versatile.  She can play any role.  She can be classy, naughty, nice, full of spice, scary, evil, cheap, funny or whatever else.  She's a chameleon. I like CARLO AQUINO.  He's a great actor and a good singer. Did I like the movie? Well, my parents did and so did the rest of the people in the theatre.  They especially loved the ending.  They called it realistic, et cetera, et cetera .

FIR CRAZY(2013) and Valentine Ever After(2016)

Image
FIR CRAZY (MOVIE ) VALENTINE EVER AFTER (MOVIE ) ERIC JOHNSON made a great impression in LEGENDS OF THE FALL as the young Tristan(Brad Pitt as a grownup) and since then he became really busy.  He has projects here in there and no role is big or small. I chose to write about these two made for TV movies together because they are two of the most commercialised seasons.  The stories are different and Eric's characters are different. In Valentine Ever after he is paired with AUTUMN REESER.   He is a cowboy who saves Julia(Autumn's role) and Sydney(VANESSA MATSUI) when their GPS goes bonkers and their car conks in a deserted place.   He just happens to pass by.  They have an instant connection, but the problem is, Julia has a beau(DAMON RUNYAN) and she is very much committed to him.  I love the flow of the story including the series of mishaps, but how they didn't dwell on those mishaps and became each other's saviours was something to be delighted in. The res

Bad Date Chronicles(2017) and Christmas Connection(2017)

Image
Bad Date Chronicles Written by Rick Garman Christmas Connection Writing Credits   Andrea Stevens ... (teleplay by) and Gregg Rossen ... (teleplay by) & Brian Sawyer ... (teleplay by) Andrea Stevens ... (story by) What do these two movies have in common?  The director: Steven R. Monroe. Which do I like better? I really can't compare the two.  One story reminds us that no one, absolutely no one, can play God. The other story is about, like the title says, Christmas Connections. The first story is a series of mishaps and manipulations. The second story is very heartwarming. If you have the time, do click the links and see for yourselves if you like them or not. Thanks for your time.

A Country Wedding (The Movie) Written by Nancey Silvers Directed by Anne Wheeler Starring Jesse Metcalfe as Bradley Suttons (Sarah's first love) Autumn Reeser as Sarah Standor (Brad's first love) Lauren Holly as Margaret (Catherine's manager) Laura Mennell as Catherine (A very beautiful award winning actress who is engaged to Brad) Aaron Craven as Adam (Sarah and Brad's childhood friend who married them when they were younger.  He eventually became a Pastor like his father) Hrothgar Matthews as James (the guy that keeps reminding Sarah of her financial duties) Joseph Allan Sutherland as Sam(the guy that drives the taxi cab) Farryn VanHumbeck as Sarah at 13 Will Verchere-Gopaulsingh as Bradley at 13 William Lawrenson as Adam at 13 Music by Terry Frewer I love this movie.  JESSE METCALFE and AUTUMN REESER surely made the love between Brad and Sarah seem real.  They have good chemistry. The third person in the the triangle, Brad's fianc

This set is about DAMON RUNYAN and CHRISTOPHER RUSSELL.  They are two of the most versatile actors in the world.  They can be nice, nasty, and evil, effortlessly.  There's one movie in this blog entry that they are both in it called MIDNIGHT MASQUERADE. That movie inspired me to write this blog entry. Christopher Russell and Autumn Reeser (with Damon Runyan) MIDNIGHT MASQUERADE Director: Graeme Campbell Writer: Patricia Resnick A reverse Cinderella story where the guy(CHRISTOPHER RUSSELL), though not exactly poor, is definitely out of the female lead(AUTUMN REESER)'s league.  He is also too nice for his own good.   His older sister(SHAUNA MACDONALD) plays the role of the fairy godmother , and his niece(HELEN COLLIANDER) is like a fairy godmother's apprentice or something. He has two allies: Merry(KIM ROBERTS) and Sam(NEIL CRONE). He has three NEPOTISTIC evil bosses:  The conniving father(CHRIS GILLETT) and his two sons(DAMON RUNYAN) and (DANN

Enchanted Christmas (2017)/ Magic in the Moonlight (2014)

Image
The two stories are different as night and day, but "enchanted" and "magic" have some commonality, don't they? When she left Utah as a young widow, Laura Trudeau(Alexa PenaVega) left behind her father, her love of dance -- and an old heartbreak. Now, she must return home to spearhead the renovation of a derelict hotel, which must be restored in time for a Christmas Eve benefit dance performance. But Laura is shocked to learn that her old love, Ricardo Archuleta(Carlos PenaVega), the boy who jilted her for a professional dance career, is the star of the dance benefit. And when his dance partner Taylor walks out on the show for an out-of-town audition, Laura has to step in for her, reawakening her love of the dance, not to mention her old feelings for Ricardo -- a potent combination that has her head spinning.- imdb Director :  Terry Cunningham Writers: Catherine Fridey and Rick Garman THE MOVIE The long and short of it: I really lov

Follow the Stars Home (2001)

Source Director Dick Lowry Based on    Follow the Stars Home  by Luanne Rice Writers    Luanne Rice (novel), Sally Robinson (teleplay) Cast    Kimberly Williams-Paisley  (Dianne Parker),  Campbell Scott  (David McCune),  Eric Close  (Mark McCune),  Alexa PenaVega  (Amy Williams),  Blair Brown  (Hannah Parker),  Roxanne Hart  (Tess) This is one of the best stories ever written for it doesn't only touches the heart, mind, and senses, but it also touches the soul and spirit.  LUANNE RICE , a very prolific writer of quality literature, surely has a way with words and thankfully, the screen adaptation was beautifully written by SALLY ROBINSON and wonderfully directed by DICK LOWRY. It's easy to be infatuated with a guy like Mark(ERIC CLOSE). He is handsome and he has an adventurous spirit.  Disappointingly, his adventurous spirit does not include loving a daughter with severe genetical abnormalities.   Every life is precious and everyone has a purpose in

Source From Google search: After David Kim (John Cho)'s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter's laptop.  In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter's digital footprints before she disappears forever.
