Cooking With Love (2018)

Image
Written by Marcy Holland and Justine Cogan Gunn Directed by Jem Garrard There have been many cooking shows in the past that have been tackled in a lot of love stories in different forms, and different formulae have been tried and tested for these types of programs or movies, or what-have-you, and some of those formulae have been used in this movie, but I still love this movie because it still offered some uniqueness in how problems were dealt with, and how the love story developed. ALI LIEBERT and BRETT DALTON have a good onscreen chemistry, and they surely made my heart flutter more than once, and those two kids, ARIA BIRCH and CHRISTIAN MICHAEL COOPER as Becca and Cody respective, are naturals.  šŸ³ Honestly, I read some reviews and some were saying that the two lead characters lack chemistry.  I beg to differ.  There's magic between them. Another person said they lacked conflict...gosh, does the conflict really have to be between them?  Besides, ...

Hearts of Christmas (2016) TV Movie by Hallmark

Image
Written by J.B. White  Directed by Monika Mitchell When a beloved neonatal intensive care unit supervisor is forced to take early retirement, her young colleague, Jenny, decides to turn the upcoming staff Christmas party into a surprise celebration for her. But the plan is complicated by the hospital’s new CFO who’s been tasked to cut costs. Stars  Emilie Ullerup  and  Kristoffer Polaha. - The Hallmark Channel This movie may not be perfect and does not have big stars in it, but it does leave a mark in one's heart.    SHARON LAWRENCE is probably one of the few familiar to me along with KIMBERLEY SUSTAD, RACHEL HAYWARD,and BRUCE DAWSON, but I think it's the first time for me to meet  the lead stars (I have yet to find out if I'm wrong about this) . Maybe.  Maybe not.  I checked their filmography, and I'm guessing I've seen them, but didn't know who they were...Oh, and the dog.  Well, he's famous.   Or should I sa...

All Things Valentine(2016)

Image
Avery(SARAH RAFFERTY), a blogger with a string of disappointing Valentine's Days, is ready to give up on love when she meets handsome veterinarian Brendan(SAM PAGE). When Avery finds out Brendan blames his recent break up on her blog and is the one leaving her angry comments, she begins to question whether the bond they've began to build is a true love story or yesterday's news. Written by Hallmark ALL THINGS VALENTINE Directed by GARY HARVEY Written by J. B. White What do I love about this movie?  Besides the two lead characters who are VERY believable, I like that it is not very mushy. The issues here are very real, and besides the last boyfriend of Avery who cheated on her the past year with an older woman, there's no real antagonist.   KIMBERLEY SUSTAD brought to life McKenna, and through her I saw that McKenna is not a person to be hated.  She's a good friend to Prue(HILARY JARDINE), a person who is so afraid to give her heart away, espec...

A Bride for Christmas(2012)/Just The Way You Are(2015) -updated

Image
Note:  I am updating this blog entry because I mixed up the name of the male lead with another because of the many movies I watched starring Andrew Walker and some others. After Jessie Patterson (Arielle Kebbel) calls off her third engagement - at the altar! - she swears off serious relationships until she finds “the one.” That is, until charming but chronically single Aiden MacTiernan (Andrew Walker) comes along. Unbeknownst to Jessie, Aiden has bet his friends that he can convince a woman to marry him by Christmas - which is only four weeks away - and Jessie is the target of his bet. As Aiden attempts to court Jessie by first hiring her to decorate his apartment, Jessie looks to her sister, roommate and interior design company partner, Vivian (Kimberley Sustad) as her closest confidant. To complicate matters, Jessie is doggedly pursued by her most recent ex-fiancĆ©, Mike (Sage Brocklebank), who still wants to marry her. When Aiden finds himself falling for Jessie too, will h...
