I am NOT a critic. I'm merely an observer. (Books, movies, plays, musicals etc.)

( source ) Disclaimer:  This is more of a narrative than a review Don't always judge a movie by its trailer A trailer is what usually attracts a movie goer, but sadly, even if I know at least a couple who really want to watch this movie because of the trailer, it didn't entice us to watch it.  It wasn't bad , but...  Peace to the person or group of people who made the trailer...I don't have the right to criticize you, I know, but that's what we thought of the teaser. In any case, we found ourselves watching this movie because it had the perfect  time slot.  We had ample time to have dinner before going inside the theater. We were supposed to be somewhere else , but because of the super duper heavy traffic and the Metro Manila SKYWAY was closed for security reasons because of the APEC SUMMIT we found ourselves staying in the south. Imagine, it took us an hour to get to somewhere near the Skyway from SM City BF P'que.  It usually only takes minu...

A debacle with myself is what I am having.  Should I publish this is the vernacular or should I just publish this in English? I'll just let my thoughts flow.  If I think of something in the vernacular, then I would just inject it. When I was a little girl I wondered why we weren't just annexed to the US of A because a lot of my countrymen were dying to get a US Visa anyway.   My formative years were spent in the USA and I memorized "I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag..." first before I learned about the " Panatang Makabayan " so I was one of those who were complaining why we didn't remain a  Commonwealth or something. There was a time that I was even ashamed to ...

From imdb This movie is loosely based on the life story of former Senator Ping Lacson who is now the rehabilitation czar of the places that were slaughtered by Super Typhoon Yolanda aka Haiyan. 10,000 HOURS is an action-packed thinkers movie.  When I watched this movie, I set aside the fact  that it was based on the former senator's plight and treated it as a pure work of fiction.  Still, with a few hitches, it was as real as real could be.  The scenes in Amsterdam brought me to the edge of my seat.  It was if I was a real bystander or perhaps, a stalker, watching everything while it is happening. Probably because of the familiar places, et cetera . Yes, it was not perfect, but it deserved its best picture award compared to the other movies that are playing in this year's MMFF. Robin Padilla is not just an action star, but is also a very good actor.  He is very convincing as the young looking Senator Gabriel Alcaraz whose q...

Zia Quizon singing the theme song Bilib ako sa dami ng naniniwala sa love song Mga nagbubulag-bulagan at nag-iilusyon Mga pasimple na nagbabakasakaling abanger Waiting forever di makaget-over Bumabalik pa rin ang ubod na kulit na damdamin Mahirap daw na mainlove baliw-baliwan na din Hindi makayang tanggapin ang final offer na friendship Wagas sa iyong isip ang harsh na relationship Well it’s complicated now di niya lang masabi sa iyo Na huwag ka nang umasa daw pero iyan lang ang totoo Chorus: Oh no I should’ve known friendzoned Ba’t hindi ka crush ng crush mo? Wish mo lang na mutual ang feelings niyo Oh no there’s more to life than love Pag hindi ka crush ng crush mo Life is fun but you just gotta find out how Hanggang sa panaginip mo’y bitin pa rin ang istorya Mahal mo siya ang twist pala mahal niya daw ay iba Ang peg mo lang ay teleseryeng happy ending ang kwento Pero papano why can’t you just let go?
