Source The Dog's name in the book is CASH ;-) THE MOVIE Directed by Mark Griffiths Written for the screen by Aury Wallington Adapted from Beth Kendrick's novel of the same title The movie has a different approach and there are characters in the book that aren't in the movie(like the stepchildren of Stella) and situations (Mark had a vasectomy in the book and he's the one who gave Stella the cute little dog in lieu of a baby---major difference---in the movie, it's Stella who doesn't want a baby and Mark is the one who wants her to have one...and he hates dogs), et cetera, et cetera ,  but I love them both.
