Image
Source In this modern reinterpretation of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," Ronnie (Joshua Jackson) is a hockey player and Julie (Margot Finley) is a talented figure skater. They meet at a debate in which their parents are battling for a mayoral position, and are instantly drawn to each other. However, their fledgling relationship faces obstacles due to their feuding parents. How long can the star-crossed lovers keep their relationship a secret from their families?- Source Directed by Philip Spink Written by Richard Clark, Larry Sugar and William Conway Loosely based on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet If you would count the bits and pieces I saw outside the two times I've watched this modern day adaptation before my very recent viewing, then maybe you could say I've seen this flick a dozen of times. I may have been almost thirty when I watched this flick, but watching Joshua Jackson here in this pre-Dawson's Creek days, but after D...

Gourmet Detective: EAT, DRINK AND BE BURIED (2017)

Image
NOTE TO SELF:This is supposed to be their third month together, and Abby is now fifteen.  At first I was confused so I traced my  steps.  The series started with Abby being thirteen then months later, fourteen. Then a year later they finally became an item, so there, Abby is fifteen.  #HallmarkMoviesAndMysteries #GourmetDetectiveEatDrinkAndBeBuried Directed by Mark Jean Written by Becky Southwell and Dylan Neal based on the character created by Peter King The teleplay of husband and wife team, Becky Southwell and Dylan Neal, is funny, witty and exciting.  It's not something for the big screen, but for a TV series, it's quite good. There's some amount of predictability, but there's enough room for MYSTERY. A new character enters the scene and I think he is going to be a regular.  It's Bruce Boxleitner.  Since I haven't read the book, I don't know if his role  does appear in it. He is a welcome addition to the series.  Ther...

WalWal: A Film by Jose Javier Reyes

Image
#WalWalOfficialMovieTrailer Adjective.  walwal . baggy; loose. haggard. having the tongue hanging out (as a tired dog)-Wiktionary (walwal is lawlaw in reverse), but Nestor Cuartero wrote in his article that Walwal” is derived from a popular slang that Millennials frequently use. The term is believed to emanate from the phrase “walang pakialam” and its closest English translation is “to get wasted” from drinking too much alcohol. DIRECTED BY JOSE JAVIER REYES a.k.a. Joey Reyes WRITTEN BY MARK GERARD FOLIENTE, who, at nineteen(19), currently holds the title to the youngest Filipino screenwriter for a full-length mainstream film feature A nineteen-year-old young man wrote the script for this movie and boy, we are impressed. People from our generation are the parents of the millennials and more often than not, millennials get judged like being "entitled" or people who do not know better than us. Incidentally, two friends of the family play the fathers of two...

Google Images Lizzie Richfield lands a job as house manager for the exquisite Ashford Estate in the Virginia countryside. While preparing the place for sale, Lizzie plans one final Christmas Eve gala for the family, although they seem to be a family in name only. Initial release: 18 November 2017 (USA) Director: Mel Damski Original release: November 18, 2017 Based on: Coming Home for Christmas by Jenny Hale Original network: Hallmark Channel Produced by: Harvey Kahn It's seldom...well, close to rare...that I find a film where 100% of the people surveyed loved it.  This movie is one of those rarities that it piqued my interest. Unfortunately, some critics and reviewers think otherwise.  To each his own. This made for TV movie is based on the beloved Novel by Jenny Hale of the same title.  Instead of Allie, the lead character of this movie is nicknamed Lizzie, played by Danice McKellar. I have not read Jenny Hale's masterpiece just yet, but ma...
