It took me a while before writing this, and I'm not even sure if I'm going to publish this. If you see this on Google+, then you know what I've decided.OK. In reality, LISA WHELCHEL and ANTONIO CUPO are fifteen years apart. People have a hard time processing things like this, even if it's fiction, most especially the imdb reviewers. Thankfully, the youtube reviewers were nicer. They looked at the story, and the acting. They did not focus on the age gaps.
Hey. These are actors. It just so happens that this is a movie made for television, but if this were done on stage, would you even question it?
Why can't you separate fact from fiction?
The good side of that is that it could mean you were so immersed in the story, even if you say it's a snooze fest.
Spoiler alert:
It was very predictable that Marco(ANTONIO'S role), and WENDY(LISA'S role), would end up together. So it's a good thing that the "kids" got married first, because if it was the other way around, it wouldn't be good.
Besides, they did not grow up together. Love happens in the most unexpected way, and at the most unexpected place at times. If this were a real story, and I know it could be because both my parents belong to complicated family trees, then who are we to stop feelings that could blossom?
I've just had enough of the people always pointing out the age difference in REAL LIFE. May I reiterate that those are roles.
In real life, even young people...hardworking people...look older than their ages. Some look younger than their ages. What's the big deal?
The two leads danced beautifully together. They acted well.
It was also a great reunion of THE FACTS OF LIFE. KIM FIELDS, although not a lead character, had...has a big role here.
EDWARD RUTTLE(Collin), ALICIA JOSIPOVIC(Sophia), KEITH MARTIN GORDEY(Ray), HILARY JARDINE(Emily), FRANCOISE YIP(Beverly), and DAVID LEWIS(Logan), among others, did well as supporting characters.
It may not be a perfect movie, but it's a good one. There's a good sense of humour...yes, I chuckled here and there...et cetera, et cetera.
I guess this is more of a reaction to the reactors than the movie itself.
Sigh.
To each his own, anyways.
Thanks for your time.
