No matter what the critics think this movie was well thought of, well researched, and has a deeper message than the way it was marketed more than twenty years ago.

It's amazing to learn that I am not alone...that there are people in this world that actually like what I like and think the way I do...well, almost.   I always thought I was an odd ball or something when all the reviews I read about this movie were negative, until I browsed the ones from imdb.

Maybe I don't agree with everything they said, but they surely saw things outside the box...beyond the realm of formulaic themes, fairytales and the like.

Some said Jeanne Triplehorn and Dylan McDermott looked too old to be college students.  For the longest time the casinos and clubs for some identification to prove that I am of age, but now my age is catching up on me.  On the other hand, I know a lot of people who were never carded even when they were minors.  What I am trying to say is, some people do look older than their real age and some people look way younger.

📖

Being in love with the idea of being in love in some sort of magical way could work for other people, but in reality, people fall in love in different ways, because like snowflakes, there are no two people exactly alike.  Even twins have different prints, et cetera.

At times there is indeed magic, and for others the lyrics below are true:

[Verse 1]
There were bells on a hill
But I never heard them ringing
No, I never heard them at all
Till there was you

There were birds in the sky
But I never saw them winging
No, I never saw them at all
Till there was you

[Pre-Chorus]
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew

[Chorus]
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
Till there was you

[Pre-Chorus]
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew

[Chorus]
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
Till there was you
Yet, we must admit that not all of us fall in love in a magical way.  For others to find "the one", if any, they have to kiss a lot of toads first or go different directions.  Sometimes you have already encountered them, but you noticed other people first until the time is right.

For Gwen and Nick, they have literally bumped into each other in elementary. In college, Nick dropped his architectural model on Gwen. Ten years after college, more or less, Nick and Gwen were opposing each other because of La Fortuna, a residential area.

Along the way Nick meets the girl of his dream and becomes her lover.  Gwen on the other hand had a rude awakening that her parents were not so much in love like her mom made her believe through the years...that her dad did not love her mother and...

Sigh.

Yes, those things above could be considered twenty-one-year-old spoilers, but hey, as most of the reviewers that found this movie worthy of a second chance, in case you didn't like it the first time, you will find something new every morning.  I know, I know that it usually describe the Lord's steadfast love and mercy, but it's also true with this movie.  You would appreciate things the second time around, then if you do indeed watch it again, you would like it even better.

🎬
Well, I guess that's a wrap.

Thanks a bunch for your precious time.
