I LOVE YOU, HATER is a story about people who love their families in different ways.
Joko(Joshua Garcia) loves his family too much, that's why he's afraid to hurt them not knowing that if he only told the truth, his family would accept him no matter what.
Zoey(Julia Barretto) is her dad(Ricardo Cepeda)'s dirty little secret. Her father supported her education as long as she doesn't come forward and let his wife and ONLY daughter know about her. All she longs for is for him not to be ashamed of her, but since she couldn't have that, she vowed that she should try to make a name for herself.
Sasha(Kris Aquino) is a very positive and caring person, but like Zoey and Joko, she too has some extra baggage to carry.
Kris was such a natural in playing her role. Yes, there was a little of the perky Kris Aquino in Sasha's character, but there was some difference too, and she was able to let us take a peek inside Sasha's soul.

People keep on saying that Joshua Garcia is next John Lloyd Cruz, but I beg to differ. Although I still respect JLC very, very much as an actor, I believe that Joshua Garcia has his own style, traits and personality. He is a very talented young man.
He has great onscreen chemistry with his real life sweetheart, Julia Barretto. They both act so well...almost flawless.
I really didn't notice any flaw, but let's leave room for improvement, for both of them are very young.
I am very glad that Julia is more than a pretty face. She is bright, stylish, athletic, among other things, but boy, she is also a thespian through and through.
We shouldn't also fail to notice Alora Sasam, Kat Galang, Manuel Chua, Markki Stroem, Mark Neumann, Archie Adamos, Gio Alvarez, Albie Casiño, John Estrada, Al Tantay, and Ronaldo Valdez. They, and the rest of the ensemble, including the aforementioned, made the story more interesting to watch.
It's a little bit lengthy, but you get your money's worth and more. I hope more people get to see this. I believe it has a global theme and appeal. It's just sad that we were only ten people, more or less, inside the cinema where we watched this. I really hope more people get to see this. Everyone involved in this did their best.
A person who is too beautiful to be behind the scenes directed this, so I guess it's safe to say that she's no bimbo at all. She has years of experience as an assistant/associate director, but this is her second full film feature, and third directorial job(She also directed an episode of Maalala Mo Kaya called "Gitara"). So far, so good!
The writing team did great too.
Kudos to EVERYONE involved in this film!
Oh, and reader, thanks for your time.
All the best!
