There's more to this fairytale like story than the fairytale itself. Yes, all the elements are there. I've seen this in films like a gazillionnaire not telling his or her partner the current financial situation he or she is in because he or she is afraid not to be loved for who he or she really is. There have been stories about reverse snobs too, et cetera, et cetera, but somehow this story still has some MAGIC to offer, literally and figuratively.
Beautiful Merritt Patterson is a lawyer named Maggie whose life has been planned for her. She is not very adventurous that she would rather choose the safe and beaten path than anything else.
Maybe she's not a doormat like Leah Townsend before meeting Cinco Dublin, but as the Dowager Queen Beatrice(Samantha Bond) surmised, she is very timid. I am grateful that she has a true friend in Sarah(Rhea Bailey), who was also instrumental in bringing her to that side of Europe with her.
Merritt was able to become Maggie. I've seen her in different movies and TV shows, and even if she is still her very beautiful self, she was still convincing as Maggie.
At first I wondered why Jack Donnelly was chosen to be Prince, and Future King Adrian, but he does grow on you. When you get to meet the "REAL" Prince Adrian of the fictitious Kingdom of Calpurnia at the French Alps, Jack suddenly becomes suited for the role, and becomes a perfect fit for Maggie.
Yes, this is a fairytale, but it is an endearing and relatable one.
I like the way Prince Adrian thinks, and I am glad he is not the type to blindly follow people who used to be in authority, after all, he is the future King and as King, he can do anything.
I guess I'll just stop here or I might give the whole story away.
Thanks a lot for your time!
