ZACHARY LEVI and ALEXIS BLEDEL star in a love story where a guy suffers from short term memory loss.  If you've seen 50 FIRST DATES, then you kind of get the situation.

Things to take note of before I go on with this blog entry:

Hippocampal damage can result in anterograde amnesia: loss of ability to form new memories, although older memories may be safe. Thus, someone who sustains an injury to the hippocampus may have good memory of his childhood and the years before the injury, but relatively little memory for anything that happened since.

Anterograde amnesia is a loss of the ability to create new memories after the event that caused amnesia, leading to a partial or complete inability to recall the recent past, while long-term memories from before the event remain intact.

I know of some people who dissolved their marriages because one of them has forgotten about the other's birthday, how they met, et cetera, et cetera.  Magnify those situations thousands of times.  What if every waking moment your loved one forgets you?  That he has to have memory joggers here and there, and records everything you do, and everything you say.

If you are not aware of the situation, you'd get freaked out of course, but if you knew, would you stay?

There would be doubts of course. Imagine, you know how much you love him or her, but on his or her case, he or she has to learn about it every morning.

I like the way the situation was presented here.  Of course, you'd try to find a cure, but if it doesn't happen, would you stay?  Could you handle it?  It's a very frustrating situation.  Only true love conquers all.

If you've seen 50 First Dates you would know what Henry did for Lucy.  He really loves her, and I believe until his dying breath.

Would he be cured?  If not, would Molly stay?

Hope you'd get to see this beautiful movie and find out.
