All For Love(2017)

Sara Rue and Steve Bacic
A novelist and a Navy SEAL must team up for research purposes on a book, and the novelist is not thrilled about this collaboration. However, she soon has a change of heart and begins to look at her life and her writing from a different point of view.-Rotten Tomatoes

Note: I read the reviews AFTER writing my thoughts, but decided to copy paste three of them below.  I think you'll understand why.
SARA RUE(Jo Payden) and STEVE BACIC(Colin Kelly) have good onscreen chemistry.  I think being a retired highly decorated Navy Seal suits Mr. Bacic, and Ms. Rue's eyes lights up when he's around.  It's very convincing, and it makes me wonder if the feelings are true.

For actors, that's a good thing, right?  Right!
The rest of the actors
I love Jo's publisher(TERYL ROTHERY), who happens to be Capt. Kelly's older sister.  I love her best friend, Molly(JORDANA LARGY), and her Delta Teammates(DREW RAY TANNER as PJ, ALIKA AUTRAN as Carlie and GABE GRYZBOWSKI as Tiny). Let's not forget REESE ALEXANDER who played an important role as a high ranking Navy Seal, and a friend to Colin.
What did I think of the story?
I love the flow of the story.  It's not mushy at all. Of course, there were some universal formulaic stuff there, but that's life, and it's for story to be relatable, and all that jazz.

In the end, like one reviewer at imdb said, there's the question of the passport as she has never traveled the world before, unless she's like Lucy in WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING.

This reviewer has a point:

Where is it a law that you can't posses a passport and never travel. Being a writer about love around the world, it would stand to reason that she would have a passport even if she never used it.
The technical stuff:
This imdb reviewer read my thoughts, (almost)EXACTLY:
A retired SEAL Captain comes on board as a technical adviser for a romance novel involving a Navy SEAL.

I liked the idea of the movie but I think the character of Colin being a "technical adviser" for a romantic novel on a Navy SEAL needed a "technical adviser." I think Steve Bacic would be a little too young to be a retired Navy Captain. That rank is one step below Admiral and he looks just too young for that rank. Lieutenant Commander or even Commander would have been more believable. In the scene where Colin has to save the day by being the photographers model irked me. I didn't pause the movie to check the correct order of all the ribbons although at a quick glance, they looked correct. However, the Presidential Unit Citation ribbon that he is wearing is on upside down. It's horizontally striped ribbon, Navy blue, gold and red top to bottom. His is red stripe up. It is something that would be a glaring mistake to a high ranking naval officer. Bottom line, though I enjoyed the movie.

(my other thoughts)
If he were Asian, maybe a young looking highly decorated retired Captain would plausible and possible, even if he is past retirement age.  Nowadays, the Navy Captains, Commodores and Admirals are more of my age, and a lot, look youngish.  Some look older than my father, who is past eighty, but the point is, his young looks do pass as retired, and I reiterate, highly decorated Navy (SEAL) Captain.

How old was he supposed to be?

Let's say he retired at forty and he's a little past forty now...His real age in 2017 was fifty-two.  I would say past forty is not a bad age for a retired Captain, and he could pass.  I would say he looks just right.

When my dad became a Navy Captain, he was about forty...he couldn't remember.  Maybe late thirties.  He was less than fifty years old when he became a Commodore. My dad still looks young for his age until now, although it's obvious he's a senior citizen, at least by Asian standards.

Oh, and this reviewer has a point too(the same one that talked about having a passport):IMDB GOOFS

First of all, in the book cover photo shoot his uniform DID HAVE 4 STRIPES!!!! Next it says he could not obtain the rank of Captain in 15 years. He retired after 15 years as a SEAL. It does not count hisd years of service before becoming a SEAL. YOU DO NOT BECOME A SEAL AS A PRIVATE.
