win, lose or love (2015)

As young and recently single parents, Clara and Alex have two completely different styles of parenting. While helicopter mom Clara hovers over her son Oliver, Alex's daughter Emma feels out of touch with her father's life. Their two worlds collide when Alex proposes that his marketing company shoot a commercial at the kids' school and Clara, up for election as the parent group president, objects the idea. The commercial is Alex's last hope for keeping the company afloat, so in a moment of desperation, he nominates himself for parent group president. In a surprising turn of events, Clara and Alex tie for president and must work together to run the group until the mandated re-vote. The bitter rivals struggle for power, outfoxing each other any chance they get, until the matter of raising their children puts things into perspective. Clara and Alex come to a mutual understanding and even ignite a spark of romance.-source

What a beautiful movie for the family.  We all need balance in life, and this is what this movie is promoting. Sports and the arts could go well side by side along with academics, et cetera.

Jeff(DEVON MICHAELS) would seem like the villain in this story, but the truth of the matter is that he is just a nervous wreck.  He, Alex(COREY SEVIER) and Trish formed an ad agency called TAJ, and he was just afraid Alex was throwing all their dreams away by not making their biggest happy.

The kids play a big part here, and so do the parents(HPG=HEARTRIDGE PARENTS GROUP), but the focus of the story besides Alex and Jeff are Clara(HELENA MATTSSON), Emma(KAYLA MADISON), Oliver(GRIFFIN KUNITZ), Mike(PARKER STEVENSON) and Dot(CATHERINE HICKS) with Nancy(NADINE VELAZQUEZ), Mr. Harrington(GREG GRUNBERG) and Margaret(CATHERINE HAENA KIM).

I had a great feeling about this movie just by looking at the poster.  Watching THE BANDWAGON again was pretty exciting, but the video had trouble so "the higher ups" told us to try again next time, so we looked for another thing to watch then I saw the poster.  I recognised Corey Sevier from MR. WRITE so I was excited to see this.  I was able to watch the rest of The Bandwagon after this movie, but let's just talk about this one and leave my thoughts about that movie for later.

Corey and Helena look good together as Alex and Clara(reminds me of Robocop).  Since this is a family movie, it didn't dwell much about the love story about these two...the development was gradual, but those who are looking for a romantic flick won't get disappointed.  There were sweet moments between them.

Kayla and Griffin along with Skylar Keesee(she uses Fayre now) and the rest of the troop were wonderful.

What about Parker Stevenson and Catherine Hicks?  Did they have chemistry?  Honestly, if not for this movie I wouldn't have even thought of pairing them, but I am grateful that they did think about it.  They looked good together and they surely jelled as Mike and Dot.

So you see, even if this is not the best movie in the whole wide world, this movie deserves a chance to be seen, because it's at Harrington's Sporting Goods where family is always a winner 😉
