Sun, Sand & Romance (2017)

Kate (Helfer), a driven accounting executive, heads to Cancun with her boyfriend Eric, an equally ambitious land development executive, for some much-needed rest and relaxation. But the getaway they agreed would be 90 percent romance and just 10 percent work becomes anything but that. Upon arrival, Eric learns a prominent real estate developer is a guest in their resort. Wanting to seize the opportunity for potential business, Eric chases this new venture and leaves Kate to her own devices time and again. Luckily, Shep (Campbell), the resort's activities director, is an old friend of Kate's from her camp counselor days and more than willing to help fill her solo hours with fun and adventure. As the old friends spend more time together and reconnect, Kate is reminded of dreams she used to have and finds herself wondering if it's time to change course. Written by anonymous-imdb

THE MOVIE

The story created by Jennifer Barrow and Rich Tabach is a heartwarming one.  It's not the typical girl trapped in a boring relationship and finds herself having fun with a childhood friend kind of story with that childhood friend taking advantage of the situation, trying to convince her that he's the one for her.  It has a different approach to that kind of story, where the other is not boring.  He's actually handsome(SCOTT ELROD), with eyes that when they stare at you, you could melt even in a snow storm. He was just busy and ambitious, but it was not as if he wasn't caring or anything like that.

I like the central characters here played by TRICIA HELFER and PAUL CAMPBELL.  They did have fun together, but Kate, Tricia's role, never cheated on Eric, Scott's role, while having fun with Shep, Paul's role.

The children play a special part in Kate's life decisions.

The scenes before the ending, though you'd probably think is predictable, probably is, but somehow one of the two protagonists got lost along the way, so it's still pretty interesting to know how their journey to forever is.  Would their roads be bumpy?  Meandering? Would the waters be troubled?  Still? Filled with sharks? Would life be smooth sailing? Or would an eddy swallow the boat they are riding?

It is a pretty interesting story.

Oh, by the way, our leading man, Paul Campbell, is one of the producers, and I like the fact that his role, Shep, didn't do any stealing, because he had to fight his own monsters himself, so to speak.

Well, I guess that's all I have to say.  I have still tons of other stories about things I have read, seen, and listened to in the past that are on draft mode, but maybe I'll write about something "new" later before I do that.  By the way, one reviewer said it's wooden and with no chemistry.  Really?  I beg to differ.  They do have chemistry, though honestly, if Scott Elrod wasn't too busy and too hungry for power, they looked better on screen, but it's not true that they, Paul and Tricia, don't have chemistry, for they do.  Well, you may or may not agree with me.  It's up to you.

Thanks a bunch for your time.
