There were many reasons why we made sure we were going to watch this movie besides GERARD BUTLER being my second biggest multifaceted very harmless crush, The Navy.

My dad retired from service twenty-five years ago as a Flag Officer, so among the branches of service, The Navy is closest to our hearts.

I was incredulous about certain scenes, like how easy the air and land crew were able to enter enemy territory, but I love the movie anyway.

The movie was fair to both sides, and I love the conversation of the two Captains (MICHAEL NYQVIST and Butler), and there were a lot of nail biting scenes that made me squeeze the hands of my folks.

COMMON, LINDA CARDELLINI, and GARY OLDMAN gave stellar performances, but we shouldn't belittle the performances of the following:

ALEXANDER DIACHENKO(Russian President Zakarin);

TOBY STEPHENS, ZANE HOLTZ, GABRIEL CHAVARRIA, and RYAN MCPARTLIN (The Navy Seals/Search and Rescue Team);

and

CARTER MCINTYRE, the USS Arkansas Executive Officer

Of course, MIKHAIL GOREVOY was a very good villain.

Needless to say, this is a team effort.  Even the ones not mentioned did their jobs well.

It is definitely not a waste of time watching this movie. Even if there are very unbelievable scenes, there many scenes where we were awestricken.

Kudos to everyone involved in this film.
