This is definitely darker than the first of the trilogy, and I read somewhere that the script was top secret, so there were elements exclusive to the movie version alone.

Who is Credence Barebone?  Who is he really?  Why do they want him killed?  Why does Gellert Grindelwald want him to be his ally?

The special effects were very believable, and when the "ending" finally came for this middle of the trilogy, all I could say was, "Oh, so that's why."  

The cast:

EDDIE REDMAYNE as Newt Scamander & EZRA MILLER as Credence Barebone(both men are in character all throughout the film...bravo!)

ZOË KRAVITZ as Leta Lestrange - Miss Kravitz is physically more beautiful in this film than in any of her other roles.  She also was able to channel Ms. Lestrange, ergo, she was convincing.

CLAUDIA KIM as Nagini -Ms. Kim is one of my favourite Korean actors, and I'm thankful she did not disappoint in this film.  

KATHERINE WATERSTON as Tina, is more than Sam Waterston's daughter.  She is actually more physically attractive in real life, but here they lessened it a bit because her role here is sort of insecure.

ALISON SUDOL as Queenie who practices Legilimency, the magical skill of extracting feelings and memories from another person's mind—a form of magical "telepathy" (although Snape, an able practitioner of the art, dismisses the colloquial term "mind-reading", as a drastic oversimplification). It also allows one to convey visions or memories to another person, whether real or imaginary. A witch or wizard possessing this skill is called a Legilimens, and can, for example, detect lies and deceit in another person, witness memories in another person's past, or "plant" false visions in another's mind. (description from Wikipedia). Grindelwald thinks he could make use of her skills.  

DAN FOGLER as Jacob Kowalski, No-maj beloved of Queenie.  He is one great actor.  

CARMEN EJOGO as Serephina Picquery, President of MACUSA(Magical Congress of the United States of America)

BRONTIS JODOROWSKY as the Nicholas Flamel, the immortal alchemist

CALLUM TURNER as Theseus Scamander, Newt's older brother, and Leta's fiancé.

POPPY CORBY-TUECH is Gellert's puppy...kidding.  She's Grindelwald's assistant.  He makes her do his dirty work, so to speak.

WILLIAM NADYLAM as Yusuf Kama, a pureblood related to one of the main actors  

and

JOHNNY DEPP as Gellert Grindelwald & JUDE LAW as Albus Dumbledore (as usual, stupendous performances from these two thespians)
