The Christmas Song (2012)
Gabriel Hogan and Natasha Henstridge

In New York City, Kasdan Cresswell Academy is the outcome of a just happened merger between an all girls' school with an all boys' school into a coed school. By the start of Kasdan Creswell's first academic term, not all aspects of the merger have been ironed-out. In what was already a threatened music program at both schools, Kasdan's director of music Diana Thiessen and Creswell's director of music Ken Stoddard still have music teaching jobs in the merger running parallel music programs, it not being clear what will happen to either of their jobs based on monetary issues, with the likelihood that both will have jobs by the end of the completed merger low. The premise is nothing new, but I like how natural the story felt, except maybe for the eccentric judge/owner of the network/alumna of the girls' school, and the principal of the merged schools, but I like the actors who played them.
NATASHA HENSTRIDGE and GABRIEL HOGAN are contemporaries, age wise, but career wise, I think Natasha was more popular than he is. Nevertheless, the chemistry between them is good. They probably played their respective ages, and people who focused too much on teaching rather than their personal lives. Their characters finding each other was...rather is, a good thing.
The teenagers did their parts well too, and I like the ones who played their best friends.
The movie would have been boring without conflicts, but I am glad they did not exaggerate things.
My heart feels light, and I feel good.
I think this deserves to be watched again someday.
