Luis und die Aliens(2018)

Image
Source Jennifer, Luis,  Directed by Christoph Lauenstein and Wolfgang Lauenstein This story may be in animation, and is so outrageous, but it is definitely enjoyable.  It's a German film about a young boy in middle school who has been neglected by his father because of his obsession about aliens.  Everything seemed normal when his mom was still alive, but when she crossed over, poor Luis, he had to fend for himself, while still defending his dad. The script was written in an intelligent manner, but little kids would still get it with the guidance of their parents. Some are complaining about the Parental Guidance rating, but I think the ratings board is correct in giving that rating.  There are scenes there that have sexual overtones, and they are not subliminal, like that of The Lion King's messages in the sky, so to speak. Even with the overtones it could still be enjoyed by the whole family because it is still wholesome enough.  If parents were able to guid

Avengers: ENDGAME (2019) Just feelings, no spoilers

Greenbelt 3 Ate Carol and I watched the movie along with the Colegio San Agustin Class(Makati) of 1994 courtesy of her niece, Larissa. 3 hours and 1 minute long Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo   Screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely  Based on The Avengers by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby  Caveat:  If you don't want spoilers, no worries, there aren't any here. Also, I suggest that you don't go to the Wikipedia Page. Dad didn't understand some scenes(hard of hearing due to old age and medicine) so he looked for spoilers(after the fact).  He found them on the Wikipedia page.  No worries, I won't put the link here.  If you do want spoilers, then this is not the blog entry for you. :-) This is just a bunch of feelings, and nothing more. Stuck in Love (2012)

source Josh Boone :  Writer and Director(It's his directorial debut) source First things first: This is NOT for the conservative or for those who only watch movies that promote Christian values. So now that is out of the way, I will talk about what I think about the movie. Yes, I don't share any of the characters' values(Maybe I'm a little like Lou( LOGAN LERMAN ), but, not exactly.), but each of the character's personalities are deep, and their reasons for being who they are different, but if you get to really "meet" them, you would understand those reasons. The movie is well-written and well-directed by JOSH BOONE.  This was the first film he ever directed, so it's pretty impressive.  The actors were carefully chosen by TRACY KILPATRICK and JOHN PAPSIDERA. THE VERY CONVINCING CAST: GREG KINNEAR, JENNIFER CONNELLY, LILY COLLINS, NAT WOLFF, LIANA LIBERATO, PATRICK SCHWARZENEGGER, SPENCER BRESLIN, KRISTEN BELL, RUSTY JOINER, Log

Beauty and the Beast: A Latter-Day Tale (2007) a.k.a. Belle and the Beast: A Christian Romance

From imdb Directed by  B.J. Alexander Brian Brough Writing Credits   Dani Franklin ... (screenplay) loosely based on Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont 's classic novel called  La Belle et la Bête Brittany Wiscombe (story adaptation) Source This movie might not be the best version ever, but I've watched this three times already.  It has been lambasted by critics, seculars and Christians alike.  The seculars noticed the bad acting , and the Christians were looking for something more like: Why weren't Bible passages quoted? Why didn't Belle lead the Grace before meals? Why did she give hope to Craig when it was obvious that she hated his guts? ...plus so much more. I watched this movie because I wanted to take my mind off things, like recent events. For me  this movie is easy to watch.  As we all know, this is a modern adaptation of the famous classic, and because we know that, we kind of know most parts already...t

Ateş, Suya Düştü( Fire, it's in the water)/ Su ve Ateş (Water and Fire) 2013

Written and Directed by  Özcan Deniz Cowritten by Avni Tuna Dilligil The writing style of the screenwriter/director and his cowriter IS unique.  They really worked like one person, ergo their teamwork is very commendable. I've seen bits and pieces of Turkish dramas, but if I am not mistaken, this is the first time I've seen a full length feature movie, and I must say that I am very much impressed.   The movie starts with a young lady given a  book to read by a man we could only hear from the background.  We could only guess if he's her husband, boyfriend or whomever we could imagine. She reads the book, and we get to visualise what she's reading. She gets involved with characters in the book. When the characters she's reading about fall in love, she has a light feeling. While visualising what she's reading, we start to get involve too. True, there are many stories like this one, but ÖZCAN DENIZ and his cowriter,  AVNI TUNA

Hallmark's Bottled With Love (2019)/ Lifetime's Snowed-Inn Christmas (2017)

From  imdb Directed by  David Weaver Written by  Kelly Bowe After being stood up, Abbey gets inspired to open her heart in a letter, put it in a bottle and toss it out to sea. Months later, a man fishing discovers it and opts to reach out. Starring  Bethany Joy Lenz  and  Andrew Walker . Original airdate: April 13, 2019- The Hallmark Channel My feet felt like floating on air after watching this movie.  Yes, I was on cloud nine, and I still am. It took some elements from certain classics, but it also added some reality, and something new to it. I wasn't able to watch Snowed-Inn Christmas when I watched this, so I wasn't sure if their partnership could work, but I was pretty amazed that it did. There's just something about BETHANY JOY LENZ that makes you go beyond her looks.  Little by little you would love the character she's playing, then voila , you would see how beautiful she...I mean, her character...is inside and out.  Yes, she is physic

A Christmas Kiss (2011)

From imdb Who says JOANY KANE can't write?  This is one of the best screenplays ever made for television inspired by Working Girl and Cinderella Directed by JOHN STIMPSON WARNING:  There will be spoilers.  Not too many, but there will be. After watching Sylvia Day's AFTERBURN/AFTERSHOCK  (2017), and after reading the imdb reviews of the Passionflix movie written for the screen by Ms. Kane, I watched A CHRISTMAS KISS (2011).  I've seen A CHRISTMAS KISS II first, and that one was also written by Ms. Kane.  The two stories are different, and not even connected.  Others think it's a remake, but it's not.  Well, there are some similar things like an overbearing boss and that magical elevator kiss, but in the second story, the overbearing boss is the guy's sister, the situations are different, and the guy knew who he kissed.  There's also another antagonist, because it turns out the sister isn't really bad.  The female protagonist has a be

The book on the set of the Passionflix movie  (book and movie) Source The author  (if you watch the movie and pay attention you would see her there) Source I know when it comes to adaptations you can never really put everything in.  I vaguely remember something said in Hollywood Dirt that is why it is called an adaptation. SYLVIA DAY is one of the executive producers of the TV movie along with the Director, TOSCA MUSK, and the Screenwriter, JOANY KANE. The book is not without flaws, but only minor ones.  How in the world did Gianna think Jackson would forget about her when they spent the whole summer together? Duh?!? Of course he would know her blindfolded.  He knew her physically, emotionally, et cetera, et cetera .  Silly girl! If there was something I wanted the movie to change, that was that.  To humour me I asked myself, "Is the book better than the movie?" After all I said "above", yes, the book is definitely better tha

To post or not to post: Shazam! (2019) #Shazam2019

3 April 2019, 5PM, Philippine Standard Time: ( source ) From Google: We all have a superhero inside of us -- it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14-year-old Billy Batson's case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do -- have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he'll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam's magical abilities. Directed by DAVID SANDBERG Written for the screen by HENRY GAYDEN Story by Henry Gayden and DARREN LEMKE Created by BILL PARKER and C.C. BECK We watched this movie on opening day from start to finish, and I want to tell you now that we loved it, and we stayed until mid credits(an important one), and up to the after credits(a funny one).  Some probably read the second teaser was just for laughs, left after
