Linlang (movie) 1999

LINLANG (Deception)
Directed by Maryo J. Delos Reyes
Written by Roy Iglesias
Produced and Distributed by VIVA FILMS

Rich, beautiful and in love, Lance (Richard Gomez) and Lyra (Pops Fernandez)
are an ideal couple. The end of their blissful marriage begins when Lance,
by accident, meets Jill (Joyce Jimenez). Ultra modern and extremely aggressive,
Jill pursues Lance and she succeeds in no time. What was a one-night stand
turns out to be an affair as Jill finds herself craving for more. Lance,
despite his guilt, is drawn to the heat of the affair, and their sexual
adventures become even more daring. But no secret can be kept forever Lyra
discovers their affair without their knowledge. Unlike most wronged wives,
Lyra chooses to keep her rage, pretending that nothing is wrong. Yet,
despite their silence, the love triangle distorts their perspective,
and ultimately, it leads to tragic death ... (source)

Note:  According to MusicBox_5 Pops Fernandez's role is called Lyra, but according to imdb it's Myra.

This movie is another one of those "Who duped who?" kind of films. The ending is like a lingering bitter pill in the mouth that when finally swallowed would make one queasy and would make that same person regurgitate, maybe even his or her gut.  Yes, I am exaggerating, of course.  Sadly there are people in life who get away with murder...massacres even!

Since I am writing about this, this means the movie is not totally bad. I love the choice of actors from the main stars to the supporting characters to the bit players, especially Ms. Eugene Domingo(supporting character) and my cousin, Becky Misa(bit player).

Myra, as played by Ms. Pops Fernandez, is too nice for her own good.  She is too accepting of people. Well, I like her relationship with her dad, Onofre, as played by Mr. Chinggoy Alonzo, and her stepmother to be and later on stepmother, Violet, as played by Daisy Reyes, but the way she worshipped Lance was not good.  He was not deserving of all the attention and love that she gave him.  Imagine, he even made everything her fault.  The nerve!

He didn't even deserve Jill(Joyce Jimenez)'s love and devotion.  The only person he loved was his himself.

Tsk, tsk, tsk!

I guess I have nothing else good to say.

Thanks for your time and may you have a nice day!
